We spoke of a newbie Rubicon Run. Are there any proposed dates for this event?
I know everyone is welcome with the understanding that this is a no-pressure beginnger slower-pace effort that is planned to go overnight. For this run I believe Joe and Jeff are willing to waive the vehicle requirements as well, correct?
Do we have any more details at this point?

My plan is to run in with the group and hang out until after dinner. Rather than camping I plan to drive out on a night run, so i can get some night wheeling in.
I just need some dates to see if I can make it.
The last week of June is the Round up
The next week is 4th of July
The following week is Fordicon
The following two weeks I have plans.
I don't know if this is a plan for a Sat/Sun run, or if it's planned to be a weekday trip.
I don't know when the jamboree's are either. If our plan is a weekend, maybe the 11th and 12th, or 10th and 11th of August? or the following weekend?

Is this something you'd take your JKU on? I've got a couple of other stock JK/JKU's interested and it would be good for them to follow a stock jeep to see how you make lines, etc...
I currently have 225/75R16 street tires, open diffs, stock skids, no rocker guards, and no winch. I'm going to say no at this time unless things change before then (which is possible). There's barely enough clearance for me to crawl underneath it laying flat right now.

Sounds like a lot of interest!!
I told Jeff I would have something put together by now but it's going to have to wait a couple of more days. Got hit on the right front wheel on the freeway yesterday evening on my way to get Valentine's day desert. Was sent 2 or 3 wheeling for a short distance. Hope to have friday off to check the front axle with the bar and pucks and figure out what to do to get it back into shape. I'll try to be calmed down enough to get something posted up this weekend. I may have found the mother of the girl who rear-ended Keane. 😥 😥 😥

We were thinking early in the season like April, weather dependant of course. This run is being put on by Joe and co-lead by me as a give back to the club. If this is being opened up to outside forums we will require help from those who have opened it up.

This has the potential to be a huge event if everyone who has wanted to run the Rubicon but has never been able to shows up, we will be very overwhelmed.
Tell me what you think about a weekend in April (Sat/Sun Run)

I don't think I've ever been on the Rubicon in April, or in most cases even got to loon, past the SMUD station where it's plowed.
If you go in wentworth that could be tough for the beginner crowd.
We did a spring run last year in Loon and out wentworth It was a lot of fun and a pretty easy day. Jeff came on that run too. I don't recall the date however...

No one in the past 5 to10 years has made it in in April short of a full blown snow run..This could be the year the way things are going, but If I were a betting man, I wouldn't take the bet that you will run it in April 😀

I think that was Father's day weekend. Once at the bottom Wentworth was mostly water the whole way out. Fun day!
Now, THIS is a run we should shoot for!
