Strawberry Run - Sunday August 8th

Alrighty, decided what I want to do, finally!

Long Canyon to Strawberry and out through the Caples Maint station on Hwy 88, sorry Josh!

Meet at Silver Fork Union 76/Silver Fork Store at 9:00 AM (13200 US-50, Kyburz, CA 95720), depart for Long Canyon trail by 9:30 AM. We will air down at Long Canyon trail head. Plan will be to complete Long Canyon and see where we are at for lunch, ideally I am thinking we try to get to Strawberry trail head and have lunch there then spend the afternoon going up Strawberry. I would like to try the rock garden loop Kris mentioned towards the top of Long Canyon, but we will look at it to see where everyones comfort level is.

No other requirements other than standard club requirements. I will have my radio set to 151.760 for the run. If you confirmed and are running late text me so we know you are coming and don't leave without you, my number is in the club contact info. Greg is going to be running Strawberry only with a friend, hopefully we meet each other on the trail.

I will also keep an eye on the smoke and make a call on Saturday, it looks ugly up there today.

It looks like the smoke forcast shows it clearing a bit overnight and continuing through the day. I am gonna call the run on and if we get to Silver Fork and it is worse than expected folks can make decisions from there. See everyone at 9:00 AM!

I can’t go. I was working on the River Fire fueling trucks. On less then 3 hours of sleep the last 48 hours. Lungs are pissed from all the smoke and dust
