Hey all, since I went to the 37's on my rig I feel like the steering has got a bit flighty and does not want to re-center. I've read a little bit and I am seeing some pretty big swings in what folks are running for caster which sounds like could be the culprit. My lift recommended 5-6 degeees which is where I am at, mid-high 5's. I have heard some folks talking about up to 10 which sounds like a ton. What are you running?
I have checked all suspension componenets and everythig looks solid so I don't think there is anything going on there. WHen I have some time I might just increase it a bit and see what happens, but would be curious to see what others are running.

My old JK lift had pre-set control arms, so I'm not even sure what the castor was set at. But the company did a good job of dialing-in the correct measurements because I never had a steering issue on my D44. The steering components were all beef too, which probably helped a little too. Sorry I'm not much help.

How close is your pinion to pointing at the T-case output? If it is already a little low then might not have much room for adjustment. In TJ land 7-10 was ideal but the JK is a more refined suspension so shouldn't need as much. If you have enough pinion angle to work with I would bump it a degree or two and just see how it feels.
Another option would be to borrow someone else's tires/wheels for a test. Could just be the 37s don't want to be on the street and are telling you so.

Good point. I had a set of Toyo tires that wouldn't return to center and always felt like they wanted to wander.
I switched tires and the problem went away. It's definitely worth a try before messing with angles and such.

I will check the relation from the pinion to the t-case, but the Ultimate Dana 44 is supposed to be caster corrected so I should have room. I was having the same thought, adjust it out a couple degrees and see how it feels.
