The road to Hell Hole reservoir from Georgetown has gone to Hell.

I spoke to some locals (The bar tender and patrons) at Uncle Toms cabin and they stated it has been washed out in four places.

Here is the picture of the first washout I took. 100' section of the road gone!

Looks doable with some shovel work.  I cant find anything on when they are planning to start work on the road but I imagine it will be soon since PCWA has a project in the works for Hell Hole Dam.

Maybe the contractor will get a change order to work their way to the dam! I wonder what Hell Hole Trail looks like?

That's a GOOD question. That could just as easily be washed out too. That would be a looong drop off.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

I wonder if the road through the canyon is washed out anywhere. Maybe I'll have to take a drive.

I took that route last summer and it's a lot faster than through Georgetown from the 80 side. I would not recommend taking a trailer that way as it has quite a few tight turns.

That's just what we have been talking about. Curiously is killing us, but we may not be able to get very far. Let's discuss at the meeting tonight.

Kris,

Do you know what type of work they are going to do on the dam?

LOL

You can't see the full damage in the picture. It's not doable. The road in litteraly drops of 10'. Straight down. You would flip any rig over. Needs a Dozer up there to do the repair work. Or about 10k shovel loads!

grinHave you seen the club turnout to recent events? All we would need is a member BBQ and enough shovels will show up.

Raising the core to comply with Division of Dam Safety and complete a necessary step in FERC re-licensing of the hydro project.
