Received via e-mail. This relates to a mini work party on Saturday...
This project is simple and short. Please ask members to take time to show community support.
To: Contacts for Sacramento-area 4-Wheel Drive Clubs: You have received this e-mail because you are shown as the designated CA4WDC Club representative. I request you communicate this to your entire membership. It’s not too often the news is so great.
This Saturday is the launch of substantial improvements to Prairie City SVRA just East of Sacramento. The 4-wheel drive community is beneficiary of a $2,200,000 project to fully develop the 4x4 Area.
Cold and hot drinks, fruit and pastries will be provided and attendees will receive a free Park Pass at sign-in good for admission to Prairie City SVRA anytime in the future.
More accurately, this is a tree setting party. Prairie City SVRA has dug holes, prepared soil and established irrigation for twenty-one trees. (Next year’s goal is for 500 to 1,000 trees!) The tasks are to backfill holes, set trees and finish the soil around the trees. Work is expected to go swiftly and we hope to have an excess of volunteers. Your entire family and friends are welcome.
Thank you.

What other improvements are they making? Anything worth our while to the 4x4 area? Or is this a beautification project for the Hangtown crowd?
You know you are a "closet" Prarie City wheeler

Teddi and I took it out for a drive a few weeks ago. We ended up on the freeway and pushed it a little too hard. It ended up cooking all the water out of the radiator and overheated. Not far from home it completely died. We let it cool and added water and drove it home but it wasn't running very good. After getting it in the garage it wouldn't run at all.
The head gasket was leaking and needed to be replaced. With this old of an engine the head studs rusted to the cast iron head. It took a couple weeks of soaking the studs with penetrating oil, a stiff putty knife, a couple pry bars and a bfh but the head finally came off.

hee hee, FAM said "bfh".
Nice job big guy. Letting bolts soak for a couple weeks takes more patience than I have. I'm impressed!
