I have a friend who likes to go out to mountain lakes and other remote locations in her Wrangler, but she is worried about running her battery down accidentally when she is out alone.  She is wanting to get a portable battery jump box.  I have never used one to give her any recommendations as to what she should get.  Does anyone have any information that I can pass on to her so she is not just randomly picking something off of the internet.  She is also looking at getting an air compressor for very limited use.  I told her that she should probably get separate unit such as the smittybilt, but if there are any decent combo units she would be interested in those also.  And before anyone says it, I told her about Tyler and his compressors, but for as often as she is going to use it I think they would be overkill and over priced.

Thanks for any advice and input.

Chris, I have a small jump starter that I won in a club raffle. It's an inexpensive Chinese product that is about 8x10x2 inches in the box. I have used it on my riding mower several times and it works fine. I would just get an inexpensive one like this one that is similar to mine:

I have a Noco Boost X that can also be used to charge/power other devices. I haven’t tried jumping with it yet.

There are different models and prices of course.

NOCO is solid but costs a little more. ProjectFarm on youtube has done comparison tests with them if you want to see additional brands.

The MORRflate single at $160 is better than the equivalent smitty which goes for $200. Superflow MV50 ($~100) is the absolute cheapest and smallest compressor I can recommend for 33s but 35s will kill it eventually.

Thanks for the quick responses.  I'm fairly sure her tires are only 32" on a 20" rim so she won't be airing down very low, and it won't take much to re-inflate.  Realistically it might only be a few times a year, probably less, that she will use the compressor.  I'm guessing that it will get used more for her inflatable paddle board more than her tires.  I think she is looking at the smittybilt 2.5cfm for around $120 but I told her to give Sean a call just to see what he could do for her through morrflate.  I'll give her the info on the jump boxes.  Thank you

I used the SuperFlow for my first 4-5 years of wheeling when I was on 35's and it did a good job. I moved to the MORRFlate when I went to 37's. I still use it for all my other vehicles and trailer, and it works great. Would be a good solution for the usage model you are talking about. The stupid air filter broke off almost immediately and I just did not run it. I did not like the gauge it came with because it had way to large of a range, so I swapped it out for one that had a more accurate range for pressures under 100PSI (I think the old one went to 200 or 250).

The only think to watch out for, it can get very hot so you may need to let it cool before stowing it.
