I'm upgrading the Jeep to 40s. I know I may need some additional trimming than I already had with the 37s but my question is whether or not I should also upgrade bump stops.

I'm looking at the Terra Flex Speed Bump Kits for front and rear. Has anyone had any Experian of have any advice?

You need bump stops?

40's may be too much tire for you!!!!

Seriously, I ran Fox nitrogen adjustable bump stops on my jeep in the front and they worked really well.  If I recall correctly, the Tera Flex bump stops are a variable density Polyurethane set up.  I'm not sure how they hold up over time, but they should work for you if set correctly.

Use the metalcloak adjustable bump stops to figure out your flex limits as these are tire specific.  Then you set whatever bump stop you prefer.  The teraflex are foam filled so not as smooth as real air or hydro but basically no maintenance.  I wouldn't do them on a true highspeed rig, but no issues on a crawler that occasionally goes faster than the suspension was designed for.

I'm not 100% sure if I need them or not.  When it gets out of the shop I will use the forklift to check clearance and trim what I need.  I may not need them but I'm being proactive.  I didn't want to find out at Sierra Trek that I should have upgraded the bumpstops.  I have a 4 inch long arm kit with 1 in body.  But I will make those 40's fit.  🙂

Sierra Trek is a great time to break things and figure out what you need to fix or upgrade. Ask me how I know. grin

I have the EVO King Hydraulic Adjustable bump stops in the front.  They seemed to work well on the Hell Hole trip.  I got them years ago before the prices became ridiculous.
