So I was cruising around on Pirate today and came across this: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/usa-nort ... years.html
Which lead me to these:
http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/eldorado/ ... RDB5362046
http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOC ... 410354.pdf
http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOC ... 410077.pdf
http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOC ... 410080.pdf
Which lead me to this from the Preferred Alternative.
The LRMP would not be amended for the routes as proposed in Alternative 1: 09N01,
09N08, 09N82 (16E26), 09N83 (19E01), 09N95, 10N01, 0.5 miles of 10N13 (Schneider
Camp Road), 6.8 miles of 10N13 (17E73; Strawberry Cr. 4WD trail), 10N14, 10N21
(16E27; Long Canyon 4WD trail), 10N98, 11N23F (16E33), 11N26F (16E21; Barrett
4WD trail), 11NY32, 14N39, 17E16, 17E19, 17E24, 17E28. Instead, these routes would
continue to be part of the NFTS but would not be designated for public motorized use and
identified on a Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) until the routes are in compliance with
Standard and Guideline 100 as it pertains to meadows. This alternative identifies these
routes for future corrective actions, but does not analyze the actions necessary to bring
each into compliance with Standard and Guideline 100. Corrective actions would be
proposed and analyzed as part of future NEPA analyses, as funding to implement
corrective actions becomes available. After corrective actions have been analyzed and
implemented, the route would appear as a designated public motorized road or trail on the
next revision of the MVUM.
What's the difference between the Preferred and Proposed Alternatives? Looks like the Proposed Alternative keeps things open with an Amendment but the Preferred ties things up in more permitting? What are they planning to implement? So confused.

Her comment on the DSEIS:
G12-02-03-P02-
Strawberry 4 Wheel Drive Trail Meadow Mitigation Planning
โ
It is premature and pre decisional to consider this proposal. The SEIS is still receiving comments on the draft. The description of this trail is incorrect. The portion of the trail with a high degree of difficulty is beyond the capability of most vehicles and requires a modified 4x4. Birders, photographers and wildlife viewers access these meadows on foot, not vehicle. The trail would need to be relocated in its entirety to truly mitigate the impacts to Strawberry Creek and the meadows. The application gives no indication of the amount of use the trail gets, to justify the cost of mitigation. The current โadoptersโ have allowed the trail to become severely degraded; the only indication the trail is adopted is signs saying so. The proposal shows pre-decisional bias, assuming this route will be re-opened, as evidenced by the fact that there is no corresponding restoration grant application, in the event the route is permanently closed in the SEIS Decision.
