Saturday January 10th *** Canceled due to lack of snow ***[u]
Starting a thread for the 2015 Iron Mtn Road Patrol – #1. That way we can get an idea who & how many are going to go, who's going to bring what IE; canopy, fire pit,
fire wood, or anything else we might need. Also any Ideas 
that folks think would make the run better, please post it here on this thread.
We will meet at the Pollock Pines Subway, just north of hwy 50, on the Sly Park exit. Meeting time: 830
We will leave for the road by 9AM, stopping by the information station to gather supplies. We will set up the checkpoint some where on M.E.T. (Mormon Emigrant trail) or as some call it Iron Mtn. Road. so we have snow for family play, and thinking about our safety, and depending on the weather.
This is a open run to all qualified 4 wheel drive vehicles, you do not have to be a member to attend.
If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

Offline Need to finish my Jeep and get it sold first.
Need to get the heater selector knob fixed, get the soft top put on, and fix(ish) the dent so my door closes easier. Then I need to swap my 38" tires for some 37" tires.

Offline There is a foot of snow at 5600'.
Should be better than last year.
I do not have my tires yet and will not make this first run. I am two weeks away from tires approximately.

Offline I drove all the way across last weekend to 89. Went 75% across in two wheel drive. Pretty views but very limited deep snow.

Doesn't sound like there will be any recreation going on to count. I think I'll bail out of this one unless we get a freak snow storm by Saturday.

Offline How many people are able to make this event? We signed up for three because of interest at previous meetings. David stepped up and coordinated with Dana.
If necessary, how do we "pass" on a road patrol we have signed up for? I think "no snow" was a reason for one patrol last year...
I can't make it becuase of a safety issue, but will make first one after my tires are on.

Offline We can make a final go/no go call at the meeting Thursday. But if no snow it would be, as Josh said, nice drive with no need for "patrol"
