OfflineThis year, I wanted to help organize a pre-planned schedule for our club runs and events. As many of you know, we traditionally hold several runs each year, but the challenge has always been that the dates aren’t posted until later in the season—sometimes only a few weeks beforehand. For those of us with busy schedules, that makes it tough to plan ahead, and I know I’ve personally missed out on several runs because of it.
So, the creation of this schedule comes from a very honest place: I selfishly want to participate in more runs with all of you!
I’m attaching a preliminary schedule based on the months these runs and events have historically taken place, along with suggested dates that avoid holidays and other conflicts. I’ve also listed them below for easy reference.
My plan is to finalize the schedule together at our Holiday Party, so please take a moment to review what I’ve put together so far and share your input:
- Are there any runs or events missing?
- Would you like to volunteer to lead a run or event?
- Are there runs or events you’re excited about but would prefer on different dates?
- Do you have any suggestions for improving the schedule?
I’m really looking forward to an incredible year of wheeling with all of you. The POSSE RULES!!!

OnlineJust an FYI.
The "snow patrol" efforts are based on ED Search and Rescue and the USFS. You reserve valid dates at the Toy Run for our club taking credit for the info sharing up on MET.
So be sure to speak with the rep there to get the dates you have listed, or they are actually snow runs rather than snow patrols. the USFS gets funds based on our participation at actual snow patrols.

Thanks Brad. That is helpful. I’ve never done this before.
These “snow patrols” will be runs nonetheless. We can call them anything we want. I would love to make it an official “snow patrol” to benefit USFS, but since that’s not possible without some dialogue with USFS first - we can only plan what we can. That’s all I want to accomplish. I’ll try and get that done during the toy run.
If the dates don’t align, someone else can run the official snow patrols. Nothing in here is solid except the runs I’m leading. I have to plan my year now.
Anyone can add any additional runs or snow patrols to the schedule at anytime.

OfflineRoy and Romika, thanks for helping to schedule runs farther in advance so that people can plan for them. The Bear Valley Loop Trail (Sierra Trek Pre-Run) should be held on July 25th, two weeks prior to the Sierra Trek Outer Limits Run. Sierra Trek is scheduled for August 6-9, 2026 with the Outer Limits Run taking place on Saturday August 8th. It might be fun to add a camping option at the Bear Valley Campground on Friday July 24th and or the 25th. People could camp one or both nights. Something to discuss at a future meeting to see if there is interest. Since I go up early for Sierra Trek I'm not sure if I would want to camp at Bear Valley less than two weeks before Trek.

Wow Roy. That list is very Presidential hint hint.....
Noted but I would have to check with my constituents. I’m probably better just helping where I can. Im mostly busy and selfish which is why I made the schedule.
As busy as you are, you would still be a fantastic president.

OfflinePosse - I'm attaching the most current schedule for you to download if you want. I will also put these on the website calendar. I will add the runs I have planned to lead in the forum under separate titles. There are a few runs in this calendar without a leader. Please let me know if there is a specific run you would like to lead or add to the list so I can update it for everyone.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. See you all next year!

OfflineLooks like i totally forgot about the need for 1 run in "Spring" (after the snow melts at ~9,000ft) typically May to June. 2025 had multiple fall runs because I failed to schedule in a timely manner. There is nothing saying we cant have multiple so Im ok with leaving both of the fall runs for now to get the hold on peoples calendars.
Since we are planning for a sign install at the south end we might get 2 runs in spring as well. I have a meeting with the eagle scout later this month and will start to clarify plans from there.
