I’m planning to do a Fordyce to Committee run this Sunday 8/30.

Meet at Nyack Shell Station at 8am.

Begin at Eagle Lakes staging and end at Cisco Grove. 4 river crossings (flows have been low).

Level: Difficult
Pace: Moderate

Club minimum requirements plus...

Minimum 35” tires

One locker

Winch

Ability to air down/up

No aluminum valve stems (they break off in the rocks)

No rear Dana 35

Prior difficult level experience (Fordyce, Rubicon, Barrett).

Weather is looking good!

Post up if interested.

I hear yah Gil! Our bigger bet in the league is if we make it more than a few weeks in to the season once the Rona start spreading through the locker rooms! I give it 50/50 if they actually finish a season.

I'm having my axles modified and hopefully they will be done on Friday and installed in time. I have already talked to my son Brian about the the run and his 4-runner has a new, used engine in it. So don't count us out just yet.

Brian and I will let you know on Friday. He is starting a new job on Monday and needs to make sure he is back by then. Possibly one or two rigs.

Let's use PosseV2 – 151.760 MHz if you want to pre-set your radios.

We are off. Awesome day! No one on the trail. Off the trail around 2:30pm. There was an accident coming back so traffic was bad.

Well Jamie, what did you think of Fordyce? Kevin is a great guide and spotter!

It is a great trail! I felt like it had a lot more obstacles with ledges and off camber stuff when climbing/dropping that I really liked. We hiked up Winch Hill 1 and quickly decided to bypass, it looked ugly! The trail really did have a different feel to it than some of the others, might be because it was my first time on it, but I really enjoyed it and can't wait to go all the way through!

Yes, Kevin is a great lead and spotter! I think he only had to guide me a handful of times, felt pretty good about that but I am going to say the 37's have made a huge difference! I was a little nervous just having two of us on such a notorious trail, but it went smooth and was a great time!
