Jamie’s description is right on. We almost got to Buck Lake & the track bar mount, which was welded in place tore off of the frame & consequently lost all steering. Thanks to the ingenuity of Brad & Jamie strapping up the steering, we were able to limp back to Loon Lake, where we started. Then there was the long wait for a tow truck to show up, in which yet another 2:00A event ensued.
I want to personally thank Brad & Jamie for the help with limping me out the trail & the persistence to stay the course waiting for the tow truck.
Going out was fun, coming back was concerning, but besides the condition of the Jeep, we all survived the day, save for today at work!

I don't think there were ny pics of the damage, we were in full on recovery and limp out mode. My passenger may have taken a few that I will post but nothing close up of the damage. If not at the shop yet guy maybe snap a pic of tha bracket and frame rail, I don;t like saying it, but it was pretty impressive what a strong weld and the torques can do!

Was this a shop weld from last time? Seems the metal has fatigued around that area. Maybe some frame plates/ reinforcement is next
I agree. I think it's time for an overbuild! Rebox the frame with .250 wall. Then fab a new gusseted bracket of the same material and ensure it is bracketed across all three demensions.
It's fixable.
