Where are you camping? Are you staying until Monday?
I know you usually camp below the dam (which will likely be taken by the time you get there). It has an outhouse, but it also has the most mosquitos. Where's you're alternate location?

Being as I have been maybe a whole 1/2 of a mile into the Rubicion and this will be my first serious run - what do you guys normally take along with you and what would you recommend (vehicle related) besides the standard recover points, straps and spare. I plan on bringing fluids for the vehicle (esp since I can seem to go no where without breaking the seal on the rear diff cover) any suggestions

I'll try to find a place big enough for whoever to join me. And yes I will be staying till Monday. If its a busy camp I will jump the dam and camp up high or somewhere there. You will just have to find me.

You should look into an aftermarket rear cover with a thicker flange. Fluids, jumper cables are good, extra water, air compressor and maybe a plug kit at the least. I don't know if you have a CB radio but we run whatever channel matches the date. (easy for us old guy's to remember) Two of us have Ready welders with experience to match the process, everyone has onboard air some York's some electric. Mark

This are great suggestions. I'll have the jumper cables, a plug kit and a ready welder. i don't recall your rear diff cover. The point made is that people often snag them on rocks, and pull them off. Then you'd need fluid to re-fill it. I often suggest that stock covers be hit with a flapper disk on the bottom to make sure the diff and cover have a completely smooth surface.
Extra water is good too.

I'd go a little further on the cover edge and inboard the edge a good 0.1" or just enough to not be flush. Being flush can still catch it.

Looks like Logan and I can make it up for the trip!!! Will leave Pollock and meet you at Loon @ 9:00.
Anyone heading up from 50, we can meet at Safeway in Pollock. I will be leaving Safeway around 7:45. It takes my little 4 banger awhile to climb up to Ice House Rd and don't want to push it too hard... Look for the Blue TJ, no top, no doors, WP rack on back, will park out by the Safeway sign by the road.
If you need gas, drive into town from Safeway about 1/2 a mile to Chevron (cheapest gas in town)

Sorry, Brad and all, I'm going to have to back out at the last minute.
My mom is back in the hospital and not doing well but is expected to improve. That said, I kinda need to be around in case things go sideways.
Take lots of pics for me.
