Details on the calendar. There was a forum but it looks like it was removed. This will replace that. I'm still heading up. Plan to be there at 8am on Sunday. Will start the trail at 8:30am. Plan will be to reach Barrett Lake around noon. Chill out, relax and have lunch. Then head out of the trail. Hoping to be done by 5pm. I'm new to this trail so would love to have company and other rigs. PM me or call with questions. My contact info is on the calendar. Please let me know if you plan on comming.

Hey, I was planning on attending this, but the 4runner ended up with an engine fire and is getting some wiring and vaccuum lines redone 🙂

It is an awesome trail. IMO there are some obstacles on it that are bigger than most of the things you will see on the Rubicon... they just don't go on for 2 miles like the Rubicon obstacles. Once you are on the trail, it is a no brainer to get to the lake. There are a couple of bypass sections, but if you are on a trail, you will end up at the lake eventually.

There is a plane crash north of the lake roughly 2 miles (you need to hike it), that is awesome to see. If you guys end up early, or don't mind getting off the trail a little later, I highly suggest going to check it out.

Attached are some pictures, the sunset pictured happens every single night. It lights up the granite surrounding the lake for about 15minutes. If you like night wheeling, then definitely check out the sunset there.

I have a GPS track of the trail... the forums won't let me upload it here. If you would like the GPS track to upload into a GPS program, email me at [email protected] and I will get it to you. You can view the track here (including the plane crash waypoint/location): https://myoffroadradio.com/ind.....orcal-ohv/

If anyone has ham radio, the following repeaters cover the whole trail VERY well in case of emergencies:

N6ICW (Blankets the Sacramento Valley, wide area, very active) 147.195 (+) pl 123.0

AG6AU (Covers up between Placerville and Auburn quite well... has a 6m link and autopatch on 6m) 147.825 (-) pl 82.5

KA6GWY (The Rubicon repeater system. Awesome coverage over Barrett, has autopatch on 2m to make phone calls) 146.805 (-) pl 123.0

Have fun! This is up there as one of my favorite trails. Wish I could go 🙁

P.S. I am getting an upload error on the photos: "HTTP Error. Upload URL might be wrong or doesn't exist." So, you will just have to take my word for it on the sunset and plane crash 😉

Right on Tyler. Thanks for the input. I'll email you for the GPS info.

OK, normally someone posts something about a recent past run, everyone made it back ok, etc. So far, haven't heard anything. So, how about a report, comment, tid-bit, something? Did it even happen...Gil?

Sorry. I was the only one that went. Didn't make it all the way in because I was new to the trail and wanted to make sure I could get out before dark. Trail was fun. Had to winch out at the gate but the rest was fun. Some nice technical spots. Would love to do it again with a couple other rigs. Maybe next year.
