My Jeep was driving okay until we turned on to Wrights Lake Rd. Then I started getting death wobble. It just kept getting worse and worse. When we turned into the parking lot to air down, I noticed that I couldn't steer my Jeep very sharp (almost no steering). I checked under my Jeep and found that my steering box had ripped off the frame 😯
Thanks to Brad who had his welder, Dan who had his grinder, Keane who lent his battery, and Joe who had welding skills we were back in action in under an hour. It held up great for the whole trip and I certainly didn't baby it 😀
Lesson: Fix your death wobble before it gets bad enough to rip your steering box off ![]()
I used to wheel a lot. . .

Brad still remembers how to drive his Jeep, even after all that time off. I think he had fun and he didn't scratch his Jeep, so maybe we'll see more of him on the trails
I knew Brad still had it in him 😀

What are you going to do about your broken steering box? I keep telling you that if you bring your Jeep over, we can weld up your old track bar bolt holes and drill new ones. I would also suggest that you get a steering box brace 😀

Post photos of the damage.. I might stop by on my way home. I am off to go Dove hunting right now. I will call you on the way home.

Good. It was nice to be camping close so we had the flexibility to extend the day a bit. Larry and Mike didn't have much luck finding a campsite on Friday night so we were in the "walk in" section, but it worked out. They said it was really noisy on Friday night but everything was good last night.
