OfflineOur next club meeting will be held Thursday, July 11th.
Items up for discussion include the club's recent Runs, and other trips/events. We will also be discussing the outcome of our volunteer meeting with the USFS.

Yes the first responder usually request the air ambulance. This is generally how they are dispatched to an emergency scene. Only Chp will "troll for trauma". Chp is a free ride but they are only paramedic qualified. Cal Star has a flight medic and a flight RN. Their scope of practice far exceeds that of a paramedic.
A caviot to the dispatch process is that if the dispatch agency feels that it will take first reponders too long to arrive they will call the helicopter to handle the call. This would be the case on the Rubicon or similar trail.
This insurance is only good if you are transported by Cal Star or one of thier affiliates. It doesnt apply to ground transport. However it counts for inter-facility transport. So if you are flown to Stanford from UCD for continuation of care that is also covered.
