Update to Zoom logistics: For security reasons, Zoom now requires us to change how attendees enter the meeting. I am opting to use the passcode feature so if you get prompted to enter a passcode, you can find it just after the link to the zoom meeting below.

Come join your Posse family for another virtual meeting! Video is highly encouraged but not mandatory, you can call in without a camera and still participate. You can call in using a PC, Mac or mobile device. Advantages of a PC or Mac is that you will not have to install an application, if on mobile you will want to install the Zoom app on your device.

If you have never used Zoom you will need to create an account, but it’s free. Details to join the Zoom meeting are below. Zoom does a very good job providing tutorials on how to get started and connected so I recommend taking a look at them. You can also test your audio and video prior to joining the meeting so that would be good to do as well. Let me know if you have any questions! -Jamie.

New attendees are welcome and will be recognized.

The meeting starts at 7:00PM.

Great meeting, lots of participation, which aids in our efforts to stay active. Thanks to all that joined in.

Another note to the conversation we had concerning communications when in remote areas; nowadays with COVID-19 in mind, if you need a tow truck, you can no longer ride with the driver (at least that's the way it is with AAA). So even more reason, if your cell phone has no service, is to have a satellite phone, or some other positive means of communication, so you can contact someone to pick you up, if no one is with you. This becomes very apparent when it's 25 degree outside & snowing heavy! I think the club should invest of having at least 1 form of positive communications on each & every trail run. At our meeting last night, Jamie took notes & will look into this. If anyone has some knowledge of options, please let him know.

My work is more than 80/mo., not counting the phone cost.  This is probably a discussion in the member section...

I thought it might be nice to start publishing the meeting notes for those who are not able to make it to the virtual meetings. Here is what I took, others feel free to add on!

Emergency Communications
- After recent runs where we have been broken down without cell phone service and now that we are no longer able to ride with tow truck drivers (at least with AAA), it was suggested the club might want to invest in a satellite phone or other mechanism for emergency communications.
- We will start a conversation in the club only section to talk through the options.
- Moving in to next year we will see what the budget looks like and make a decision

Snow Patrols - Are we going to do them?
- Tim will contact the hi-landers about sign ups which are usually done at their Toy Run
- If the Hi-Landers are not coordinating sign ups, we will still plan them for the club and submit participation just like normal and submit the volunteer hours as usual
- This also assumes there are no pandemic restrictions preventing us from performing the run, however there was some discussion that we may be considered essential workers when performing this function as we are doing it on behalf of the Sherriff's department
- We will plan for them and if we can stay within regulations we will move forward

Toy Run
- For those who want to participate in a club drop off, we will be meeting at the Round Table Pizza where we held meetings in the past. We will meet at 10 AM and then drive over as a group. We will post up a separate event with all the details.
- Tim will contact Hi Landers and ask if there are items that are bigger need than what we would normally do, they normally buy sleeping bags with the raffle proceeds and sunce there is no raffle we want to support will it will have the biggest impact
- Kris suggested maybe doing a club trip to cut down christmas trees after the drop off for those who are getting permits. He will coordinate in a separate post if there is interest.

Strawberry Trail Improvements
- Tim feels there has been a 3-4x higher usage of strawberry since reopening, do we want to submit a plan to the forest service to get money for improvements? Do we have ideas we could request their help with?
- We discussed improved signage at both sides of the trail, let people know where they are and other important information
- Jamie reached out ot a local scout troop who said they might be interested in helping, they are always looking for projects for their eagle scout promotions. We could give them guidelines for building kiosks/trail information boards
- Stephen also works with construction crews and their apprentices always need learning projects, could be an option as well.
- The existing kiosk at least needs paint
- Since there is no holiday party we will plan a December club meeting

Officer nominations reminder - See the post in the club only section of the Forum

Club Interest Cards
David updated the club interest cards, had them printed and has donated them to the club... let's start distributing them. Thanks David, they look great!

Is the drop off in the same location as usual?

Is there a reason we changed the meeting location?

I only wonder because if the drop off is at the same place, our Round Table seems pretty far away with many opportunities for the group to get separated and spread out along the way. Whereas the old McDonald 's location had us arriving as one big group. Just curious?

I used to wheel a lot. . .

We will add more details in a dedicated post, but the Toy Drive drop of has moved to a parking lot on Greenback close to the Round Table so it seemed like a natural gathering point.

Who do I send my $20 club fee too?

Would I just be able to bring it and give to whomever on December 5th?

You can give the $20 at the toy run for your 2021 dues.  Since we will be virtual for the first part of 2021, others may want to follow suit as well!

Just give the money to the Treasurer.  She can hold it until a January deposit.
