I spoke with the Hi-landers and there request’s of what was needed this year was the same as in years past. An unwrapped toy of at least $5. There was an additional request to bring a none perishable food item. There was no specifics on what toys and or food was most in need. As far as ideas on what we can bring as a club what are some ideas?

the toy run will be on December 5 at 9348 Greenback Ln, Orangevale, CA 95662-4902,

just around the corner from the round table we where meeting at.

Please add to the calendar. Please list the Time we are meeting. Is the address listed the actual location we are going to gather, then drive to toy drop off?

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

Weird thought:

What if each vehicle brought $20 worth of toys.  And the club donated $300 of non-perishable food items.

Quick thoughts please!  We will stat the shopping in a day or two.

I like it !! Lori and I are IN !!

If there is some that can't do $20, do what you can, maybe others could give more. We'll cover $20 extra.

Ok  Thank you everyone for your responses.  Kat n I will go grocery shopping.  And thank you Dave for pointing out a "target" of $20 in toys.  Do not stress if it's a stretch.  Please only do what you can.  I will bring more as well so we have a nice toy donation too.

I don’t see anything on the calendar. Not sure if we are still “members”. Anyhow, can I get the time everyone is meeting. Thank you, J & D

I just added a calendar item with the logistics we discussed at the last meeting, here is what it says:

For those who want to drive over to the toy run drop off as a club, here are the logistics. We will meet at the Round Table Pizza where we used to hold our meetings (9500 Greenback Lane, Folsom, CA 95630) by 10:00 am. We will then drive over to the event to drop off, about 5 minutes away. The club will be making a food donation that Brad and Kathleen have volunteered to purchase, so we recommend club members bring a new unwrapped toy so that we cover both sides of the event.

Please be considerate of others and follow all current pandemic related guidelines for distancing and masks.

Additional details can be found on the Hi-Landers web site at http://www.hi-landers.com/toy/.....y_Run.html

I recommend we drive a small loop to get us on the correct side of the road so we don’t have to make a left hand turn across traffic, just in case there is a backup. This is what I am thinking:

  • Continue down Madison avenue to Walnut
  • Make a right on Walnut to Greenback
  • Make a right on Greenback

Hey guys,  its been a long time....

I have a youth's bike in excellent condition to donate. Is this the right venue?

I cannot make it to the toy drive this weekend but if I can drop it off in the general EDH/Folsom area this week I can do that.

I'll give the bike a once over tomorrow. I think it just needs air in the tires and a wipe down and its ready to ride.

I'll also add a $20 donation. I can paypal cash to one of the old-timers like Brad or JohnDF or Fred.

Let me know the details.

Thanks for organizing this.

Dan

Wow, good timing for me to log in after all this time.  Hello everyone.  Teddi and I were just checking to see if the Toy Run is a go this year.  We've got a couple items to donate and will plan to show up.  We look forward to seeing everyone.

I wouldn't prefer cash for the donation.  something like the bike is better.  If you hand 20 bucks with the bike we could forward it.  Unfortunately I don't live three houses from you any more!
