Does anyone know, or know of where I can find out, if Ellis Peak is open?  I went up there last year but it was during the fires and the view was very smoky.  I really want to return and see it on a clear day.  if its open i may go up there this saturday before the signal peak night run if anyone else is interested.  if not, i may go check out where Sharky just posted. I'm planning on camping at Cisco Grove Fri and Sat night.

Ellis peak and Blackwood canyon are part of the standard seasonal closures but are open now.  Im not sure if you can make it to the peak yet as the peak is at ~8,500ft and some of the road is sheltered from the sun on the way up there.  I say go for it and let us know if you find any snow.

Dave,

My son Ryan and I are considering camping over on Saturday night.  We can't camp on Friday because he has to work Saturday.  He will likely get off work around 2:00 pm so we could be up there by 3:30 pm or so on Saturday.   Maybe we could go someplace early Sunday Morning before heading back home... I would need to be home by late afternoon.

I'm afraid Sunday my wife and kids want to return home asap.  and now its looking like I won't make it up to cisco grove until late saturday afternoon. but thanks for the offer.  i'll let you know if anything changes.   Ellis peak will have to wait.

Thanks for the Info Kris! i'll give it a try soon
