Jeff,

Flying those Bratwurst in from Germany was brilliant!  Thank you so much for partnering up with me on the BBQ!  What a great day and club!  Sadly, I won't be at our next meeting to celebrate our membership as I will be out of town.  I will have to catch everybody at the November Meeting. I can tell you all about our adventure to Moab in a couple of weeks.  Thank you for all the support and friendship!!!

Jeff, I will tell you the club password and the secret handshake after you get back from Moab. Have a great trip, my son would be jealous.

Seriously where did you guys get those Brats? I want to do a home BBQ with them.

If I can't build it, then it's something that should be bought.

These were just Johnsonville Original Bratwursts. The night before the barbecue I put them in a covered skillet with beer and then brought it to a full boil. You then reduce the heat and cook (steam) them for about 15 minutes, turning them several times. At this point, the brats should be fully cooked. Then you just put them on the barbecue and brown them, making sure not to overcook them. I put some of the juice from the boiled brats and some cooking oil and butter in a skillet with the sliced onions. We cooked them covered and then uncovered untiled they were caramelized. If you cook the onions like this, you need to set the brats boiled aside until the onions are almost done and then put the brats on the barbecue. Glad you enjoyed them David.
