Kris, any suggestions on what I should bring for snow camping would be greatly appreciated. We’ll be close enough to home that I could bale if things don’t go well lol. But I would rather stick it out
Full snow gear, boots, jacket, pants, quality gloves, etc. with extra base layers.
Low temp bags (0 or -20), an extra down blanket, and winter cover for your roof tent OR one of these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Mr...../205527178
Warm beverages/beverages that keep you warm.
Tarp
Any Regular camping gear you can still use with gloves on

Dave, I have a -20 degree bag if you would like to borrow it. I can bring it to the meeting.

Hey: this event is going to go forward regardless of weather conditions, correct? My phone app tells me that Sunday is likely to be another storm.
Yes. Currently it is looking like a minor storm per the national weather service so should be scattered snow if any. If the front accelerates and we are issued a storm warning then it becomes even more important to get up there. If you have been watching the search and rescue posts on facebook, the idiots were out in force during the last storm. (Tyler did some great work hearing some the idiots off the mountain.) Every rig we get down the hill is on less human popsicle that could be used as an excuse to close MET.

Typically we haven't helped those that radically defy what we advise them against doing. But with that said, if there's any possibility of the FS closing Met, we may be busy doing what we normally haven't done. I would guess our AM and or PM runs would be on North/South Rd., where most don't venture down there anyway.
I believe more snow equals more people & there always is a proportion of "idiots", so we all are in for the unfolding show. No matter if the weather is good or bad, they'll be there, without a doubt. Come prepared with recovery gear, regardless. Now that Jeff is gone, plan on recovering our own as well.
Hope all has a good time & be safe.

Kathy is thinking about doing some snowshoeing? She hasn't done it before but she is fit for "an old woman" (runs daily, backpacks, rides her bike when weather permits, etc.). Does anyone else want to join her for some snowshoeing?
Jeff - As we had done last year, we too will have our snowshoes with us & plan to so as well. We look forward to the company.

Does anyone have a handheld CB radio they would lend a driver?John Riley said he'd join us (new guy last night) and I told him he could use my handheld. Well, mine won't fire up! I think it finally died...
Not many still run the CB. I will be on GMRS/FRS channel 5 (462.6625).
The HAMS on the run will likely be monitoring the 805.
