Haven't tried again yet. Got another temporary so I'm good through the end of August right now. I'm fully paid up, just have to run one of those red sticker deals until I can get it to pass. I'm going to try running it for about 30 - 45 minutes on the freeway and then take it in to see how it does. It's been sitting so long, that's it not really that surprising that it doesn't pass.

I'm out for this weekend. I took out a tire on Rubicon and won't have time to get it replaced in time for this trip. 😥
Fred You can borrow my spare. My lug pattern is 5 on 4.5. I have to work this weekend and I wont need it.

Don't talk like this around John, he thinks his Jeep will break if he changes any oil, greases zerks, or washes it..I am betting he still has the same engine and tranny oil that he did when he bought his Jeep
I conned him into washing his Jeep one time, and we drove to the car wash and he commenced to power washing the inside of his Jeep, seats, dash, inside of the drivers window, etc 😯 😯 There was like 5 inches of water on the floor board as we drove back to his house and my seat was soaked 👿 👿

Thanks Bill, but I also need to do some diagnostics on my brakes. Tuesday morning leaving Buck Island they didn't feel right. I adjusted my proportioning valve to get more rear brake and that helped but didn't completely resolve the issue. I think I may need to replace the master cylinder again. I suspect the hydraulic brake booster may be putting too much pressure on the Corvette master cylinder(s) I've been using.

Not sure what is wrong with your hydroboost, but I have been running mine for 4 years of hard wheeling and a lot of street driving on 37's and now 40 inch tires and my brakes still work like a champ and even lock up my 40's!

If I remember correctly you're running the Chevy 1 ton truck master cylinder (rectangular cover). I've installed the smaller Corvette master cylinder (oval cover). When it works correctly the peddle is a little softer than with the C30 master cylinder. My first hydroboost that was damaged during shipping had the Corvette master, but the replacement had the C30 master. Van said some people had trouble with the Corvette master cylinder but didn't elaborate. I've still got the bigger C30 master cylinder and will probably just switch to it and see if it holds up longer.

Mine is the square top, the only issue I do have is leakage of power steering fluid, not sure where that is coming from, maybe the remote res., or loose bolt, not sure, but as far as brakes go it has done a great job, I don't run a proportioning valve though.

Just finished welding up a cracked bracket, man it's time to go coilover..... Getting to that bracket was a pain in the @ss!!
Left to do:
Put the driver front coil back in
Reconnect the driver upper control arm (new bolt)
Three bolts in the passenger side rocker
new front diff cover bolts (on the way to the store now)
Fill the front diff
Check various bolts / u-joints
Spread some silicone on my front two wheels for the beadlocks (or maybe find the pinhole leak in the welds)
Drink
start loading up the rig for Saturday

That's a good question. I don't know. He said he read the description on the calendar and was anticipating going. His Jeep does have front & rear ARB's so the Jeep should/may be capable enough. I don't think he's ever seen winch hill 1 so I can't really ask him if he thinks he's ready for it. Any idea how the WH1 bypass is these days?
If the requirements for the run have changed let me know and I'll pass that on to Don.

No, the requirements are the same. And we probably won't get to winch #1 anyways. We'll play it by ear and take what comes. But you know as well as anybody that Fordyce can reach out and bite you
This run was set up for just this purpose. To get some new guys introduced to the best local trail. We will only go as far as people feel comfortable.
I used to wheel a lot. . .

Ok, thanks for the update. He said he'd have to see how he felt that morning so who knows whether or not he'll be up to it, but he'd like to go. I read him the meeting location, 7:30 at Sweet Peas and 8:30 at Starbucks. He sounded like he was planning on the Starbucks location. I'm not sure I'd wait on him too long. You may want to check the contact info forum and get his cell phone number.
