I think your 2 1/2 is conservative. I would estimate closer to 3 to 4 hours to get to the river..That will put us at the river around 2 to 2:30..leave the river around 3:30..Get back to the staging area around 7 or 8 at night..

It better not take that long. I set this run up to be a short lunch run so that my kids can enjoy themselves without having to be bounced around and baked in the sun all day long. They are starting to dislike wheeling because it always turns into an all day thing... Not this time!
It normally takes 1/2 hour to get to the river, I think I was being pretty generous by estimating 2-1/2 hours for the larger group, barring any breakdowns.

Took Cole and I 1 and half hours to get to the first river crossing with two very short stops.
By the way this is my first post from my Droid phone. 🙂

Fun run. The group all got to the water and met Larry and the others. After lunch, we ended up in three different groups. Justin, Mark, Don and myself took the lead going out, no problems except Don tore a sidewall and we had to change his tire. Fred and the others fell behind after the water crossing with traffic and such. I was home by 4:30, which was exactly how I planned it. Rob, Richard, Chuck, and Kevin went on up to run Winch Hill #1. Last I heard they had cleared winch hill #1 at 4:00 and then Kevin broke a front axle on Winch Hill #2 after 4:30. That's the last I've heard so far. Hopefully Fred's group will post when they get back.

My kids had a great time. They were excited we did the river crossing and they got to see some of the guys swamp thair Jeeps. Don's was filled from door sill to door sill. The timing was perfect and they never got bored. Great trip.
Last I heard, Kevin was almost to the commitee crossing. They are limping it out because they didn't have a spindle socket to get the axle out. Grinding it all the way to Cisco 😈
