Have a good trip. I live off hwy 80 above Auburn so if you have trouble and need something I'm probably one of the closest to Fordyce and I can usually cut out of work if necessary. Post up if you need help like parts or something. I will check this thread throughout the day.

You win again Fordyce! You win again!
My losing streak continues with this trail. Although, I have been able to get out every time.
After a first bad line and getting strapped off a rock, I did cruise up Winch Hill 1, so that's gotta count for something.
So I think it all started when my hydro assist, which was attached to the 1/4 inch thick steel track bar bracket, bent the bracket and eventually broke it off the axle. Before breaking off the axle, I believe this stressed the track bar causing it to break. With no track bar, I believe this stressed the upper control arms causing them to break. Good thing I got the winch because I ended up wrapping a tree saver strap around the diff and axle and cinched it down with the winch. Without that I would have been spending the night on the trail.
Oh, and Brett's front axle u-joints came loose as well.
When are we going again?!

Well everyone, we made it out of Fordyce in one piece. Kevin had a variety of issues that cripled his Jeep to a point where straps, duct tape & a tree hugger was used to eventually lead to a sucessful end, meeting a tow truch at Cisco Grove.
What made me proud of our club more than anything else was the folks who did or was willing to step up to the plate to do whatever was necesssry to help on a workday yet!
Thank you all for your kind thoughts & help.

Kevin,
When I was picking up your parts today at Metal Cloak the guy asked if you were running Hydro assist. I told him that you were. He said that they have had a number of similar situations as yours with the track bar bracket giving way. In particular if they are the bolt on type. He said they have to be welded and heavily reinforced. I told him you were running 60 axles and then he put it together as to who you were. They said that once that bracket goes it throws everything else off and stuff bends and breaks. So unfortunately, your assessment of what happened is consistent with what they believed to be the cause. What is really amazing is that those guys at Metal Cloak stand behind their products even if they don't believe they gave cause for the failure. It certainly gives me cause to think about them when I decide to upgrade my lift kit.
I learned that they are having an open house this Saturday from noon to ? I just might take a ride over there and check it out.

I just got on the forum and read about Kevin's problems. I'm glad everyone is back home safely.
I do think Jeff R is responsible! He jinxed the trip by mentioning having trouble and needing parts.
Kevin, are you going to have a work party to get your rig back together?
