We lost a Jk on 37s cause his automatic transmission started acting up. It wouldn’t shift once he crossed. He put it in park to investigate and then it wouldn’t come out of park.
Other than that, if you had doors you stayed pretty dry. It was going over 40” tired. But am XJ and TJs on 35s we’re going through.
Um...what?

Oh that sucks. What year JK? Just wondering if it was the 4 or 5 speed auto.
How did he get out?

He was a 2015. We had to disconnect his drive line and then we turned him around. We then were able to get him into drive and then reconnected the drive line. He drove back out to the staging area on his own power. Once out of 4 wheel drive it worked as normal. I think he got an electrical connection wet. But we aren’t sure yet.

So did you do the entire trail or did you have to turn around with the 2015 JK?

We did the entire trail. We sent the broken JK out with another jeep. We continued on. That’s a relentless trail. It was my first time through in 4 attempts.I think I enjoy the trail up to winch hill 3. After that I’m not sure I care to continue. Lol
Winch hill 3 is a challenge. I have done the full trail several times and I have to tell you that I have never been more comfortable than when I have had Kevin Hebert spot me. I really trust his judgement and lines!

Wait. This is the guy that told me I shouldn't have a problem on the Sierra Trek River Run haha. Seriously I'm glad you said that as looking at it the day before I was wondering what I was getting myself into as the hardest trail I've done before was Signal Peak. I thought to myself WWGD when I approached an obstacle haha. What would Greg Do. That and follow Jeff like a lost puppy. Thanks for building confidence in the new guys.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great trail, but It is a tough and challenging trail. It's all doable but it seemed to get tight and crowded after winch hill 3. Line choices became limited after dodging broken down rigs.
I'd love to make a return trip and camp at the river just after the first crossing.

The fly fishing is better at the second crossing.
I used to wheel a lot. . .
