Bad news...I just changed the oil Friday. Head gasket?

Any other way water would get in the oil?

If you were in deep water/mud it could have gotten in through the dipstick tube.

At closer look the oil is VERY metallic. The filter is very heavy too.

Think I did any major damage driving back?
Anything else I should check? Help! :banghead:

I'm not a mechanic, and I don't play one on TV, but

I'd get the milkly oil outta there quick.

If it were me, I'd change it and fill it with valvoline 30 weight and a new filter.

pull the plugs and crank it through abit and then do a compression test

If the compression check is off, pull the head and look for problems.

If the compression test checks out, put the plugs in and start it. and see if the milky oil returns.

If it does, but it is less milky, drain the oil and try again. It might just be fine.

again, that's just what I'd do.

My only damage, if you could call it that is a broken light tab thing and some missing lugs off my front passenger side tire.

This is the biggest one i could find. It caused some major death wobble on the way home. Time for some MTR's.

Oh ya, and i bent the bumper a little bit on the front right when i came up a little too fast on winch hill # 1 and hit that rock.

Why don't I see some of these pictures? Is it a set up problem, or are others also not seeing some pictures? ❓

That is a wicked gash on the tire! I've got to post a picture now...my parking light looks exactly like that! Must be a Toyota thing! 😀

I can see all the pics fine.

Those are some nasty chunks.

I'd move the two worst tires to the rear.

Great video. The crunch is great, but I'm not going to let Larry tag along anymore..."well, there's your front fender, now you're a real Toyota."

Thanks Dan, Changed the oil/filter and I checked the compression and they're all at 175.

So I guess I'll wait to see if goes milky again.

Anyone for a cup of Joe? lol

Sounds promising. But, you may still have a blown head gasket even if compression is good. It could be blown between a water galley an oil galley. Keep an eye on the oil getting milky -- and keep an eye out for oil in your coolant.

Oil can get into the coolant, and coolant can get into the oil so watch both.

With the amount of water you added, I'd replace the coolant fairly soon too. It would be a good time to pull the radiator to get all the goop out.

If everyting is looking good after a week or so, I'd still replace the oil again just because.

Good luck.

Closed Mondays.
