There was a report of a couple of guys that went all the way through. They said there were some trees down and still a good bit of snow after Meadow Lake. They said it took a couple of hours to get from Meadow Lake to the pavement. Be prepared for a long day.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

I'm not going to bring Ryan on this trip. It could turn out to be a very long and boring day/night for him. Those are the kinds of things that could turn him off of wheeling. I'll arrange a shorter family run to bring him on.

I can't have a repeat of last year because of work. If things are looking bad, I'll probably cut out early at the Committee trail. I'd really like to make it all the way across though so lets move quickly!

I also have an early morning.

I agree we should move quickly.

I have never been on a fordyce "day trip" all the way to meadow that was even close to finishing in daylight.

Well, there was one, but we finished the trip in broad daylight the second day.

I'm bringing a tent, sleeping bag, reserve food and water, and extra clothes. Of course I always bring that stuff, so this trip will be no different.

Be cautious of the bypass on WH3….it is very steep and getting a good under cut to it. Tinman and myself are trying to get up there Saturday morning to run in through Committee to Meadow and back. We are bringing our saws to clear the downed trees so I hope it is smooth sailing for you guys. :hack: Maybe we will see you up there.

Dan, you can fit through the squeeze on Winch Hill #3. A few dents and scrapes are a strong possibility though, right Keane?

Thanks for the update rainfly.

I went through it with the yellow jeep, so you shouldn't have any problems!

This is starting to seem like a pretty crazy first run for me and my truck. 😯 We have a chainsaw that we can bring if it would help. Oh, a kinda off topic question but those of you who have toyotas, what kind of spare parts should i be bringing with me on these runs? Like driveshaft u joints i think would be a good thing to get. Im still new to this stuff. 🙂

FWIW we had a guy in a TJ on 33" do just fine. It was his first wheeling trip ever. He took his time and made it without issue. He was a little tired at the end of the day though.

It never hurts to bring a couple extra drive line u-joints. As far as spare parts go, the list could be endless based on how you wheel. I am setting the pace on this run as a slow and go and get everyone through safe and sound. You can always break something, but the plan on this run is to help everyone through and stop you before you do break something. I usually carry an extra rear driveline, extra tie rod and ends, axle u-joints, driveline u-joints, extra tracbar (you don't have one with leaf springs), nuts bolts, spare hubs, etc..You will start to build your own spare parts list as you start to wheel more.....Don't worry too much about it this weekend. Just come out and have fun.

Cool. I think we will just meet everybody at the trail head since we are further up I-80 past Auburn. We would be going backwards to meet everyone at starbucks.
