If we depart at 9AM, it's 60 miles to the trailhead, so 10AM at the trail airing down.
Been a while since you've been there? I know your Jeep is fast but there is absolutely no way you're going to average 60 mph on that road. As I remember it's at least 1.5 hours, closer to 2.
I figured we could average 85 on Wentworth and then 40 once we're off the main road. It's about 50/50 in distance breakdown so that would put us there in just under an hour! Remember that Jason has a hemi in his jeep and I have a 30K strap in the back of mine. With his new auxilary tranny cooler he shouldn't have any problem stapping me up there since I won't be able to get over 60 mph uphill.
I guess I need to book an extra hour each way.
Brad, your funny. If its two hours to the trail head I vote for an earlier departure time but I don't want the group leaving based on my schedule, If I can't make it this time, I'm sure there will be another. Its possible I may have to back out anyway if my morning gets planned in conjunction with my plans that night. Right now I am making every effort to be there, but there is a possibility I won't be able to. The last thing I would want is everyone showing up at 7a and I can't go.

I have a friend who would like to go on this run also. He's locked front and and rear, on 35's, jk. His name is Scott and he tagged along with me and carl at Prarie city awhile back.
As for time, I'm good for when ever the trail leader leaves the parking lot.
I might have the Premier welder installed for this trip(I'm not tempting Murphy 😐 ).

The more time up there I think the better - Ive Never Been - But I would prefer if we all left together so my vote is for whenever the most people can make it. Also i am a non member and just hooked up with you guys last week and don't want my opinion to weigh very heavy till you guys decide if you like me and i become more regular.

You did great on the last run John. You are more than worthy of chiming in! This is a more challenging effort than our last snow run so you should have a great time!

Im sure as I have not heard much of it and it seems to be a popular trail this isn't an issue, but a buddy has told me French Meadows is where alot of the Yosemite trouble bears are relocated. "Trouble" being the ones not really afraid of humans and just causing break in issues more than anything else. Being as im sure we will be loud and are not camping overnight its not a big deal, but i still will be equipped with a bear "repellant".

Unfortunately im out of .460 Rowland and my reloading set up is currently packed in storage so i figured the FN SLP mk1 with 9 slugs should work just fine if its needed.
A buddy and I "chased" one on Ice house rd for about 75 yards 2 years ago, it was a little guy though.
If theres enough interest maybe one of these days we can plan a run with some shooting time

A couple of things:
Johnanthan - I hope you can make it!
Jason - My top is already off! I run a safari top all summer and just pull my soft upper doors for runs. I'll probably have them on to georgetown and pull them off there.
My wife is not coming on this run, but only becuase I already have a friend and his son coming (Plus my son), so I'll have 4 in my jeep.
Josh is having trouble getting on to the site so he asked me to post up that the plan is an 8AM departure from georgetown, and that he'll see everyone there.
In the interest of full disclosure - I am trying to close out some car details today/tonight. If I can't finish everything today I will need to leave early tomorrow and get back to sacto so I can do it Saturday night.
Oh, I don't carry bear repellant A fire extinguisher will work just fine in a pinch as will some other options. 45 years up in that area and I've never had bear problems. I've seen them and had them in camp but they weren't aggressive.
See you there!
