Looking doubtful.. I picked up my winch from warranty yesterday and went to install it and noticed a small tranny fluid leak. Rubber hose rubbing against a metal edge. I am redoing the lines today. But I can't start till 9p tonight because of work and other engagements that last till 9p. If I get it done then I'm in but if not take pictures for me.

In all honesty, aside from pics the group took the folks from Epic Addictions in Fresno took a lot. They will have all of those pics on their website later today. See them at:

I figure they'll be up later today as those folks had a LOOOONNNGGG drive home.

I forgot to say a big THANKS! to Josh who drove out with me, and helped me with the death wobble I incurred after hitting the road. We had to make two stops before getting everything dialed back in, and he followed me most of the way home to boot. Thanks again josh!
Oh, wife has now experienced death wobble and decided she doesn't like it...

Did you figure out what caused it? Any comprised parts?
Yes. Solving death wobble takes 5 mins to identify and fix, but it does require two people initially. The only exception here is improperly set up steering geometry. Then, it needs to have angles corrected to solve the problem. Again, not too hard of a fix, but not as cheap as what I was facing. I knew my geometry was correct because I didn't have any bump steer problems and I haven't done any recent steering/front end geometry work.
In my instance, the first problem was that my lower drag link end became loose, allowing for play. The cotter pin was still in so there wasn't any risk of steering failure, just death wobble. Once fixed we drove most of the way out but decided to stop on Wentworth springs rd just to be safe. Josh asked about a "moving bracket". That was actually a loose track bar bolt. once tightened the steering was factory smooth again. Two easy fixes. luckily I was carrying my "parts" bag that had new cotter pins in it so the fix was 5 mins the first time and less than that the second time.

I don't know why you have ongoing death wobble problems. Have they been around since that front end was installed? Is it worn bushings or tie rod ends? Next time, I'm over, let's check it out and see what's moving. Then the fix is pretty easy and makes a big difference! If the problems have been around since the front end install, again we can identify it really quickly. At least you'd know where the problem lies.

For this newbie the trip was better than I expected. I liked the challenging sections. The views were great. I was surprised by the amount of rigs from other groups. The rock slabs and drop off points were new for me but fun. Looking forward to many more trips to see more of the trail.
