Lynda & I are spending holiday time with family in Arlington, TX. There are flights being cancelled due to flight crews contracting COVID & the weather. We are scheduled to fly back home tomorrow, hopefully. If so, the plan is to attend, assuming the weather/road conditions will allow. We will confirm sometime before Saturday.

I have major tree damage on my property due to snow. Four large oaks fell over with the root ball plus tons of broken trees and limbs. I may be starting cleanup this weekend. If so, I will let you know if I back out of this run.
Jeff, if you need help let me know. If I am free, I could come up and give you a hand for an afternoon

Thanks Chris. Only one was crossing my main driveway and I already cut that one up enough to get out. Lots of work but nothing urgent.

Concerning the snow event Saturday maybe we should all if possible take chain saws and shovels etc. and help people around George town clear roads, cut trees and get people unstuck. The road to utc will maybe closed or need tree clearing also. Just a idea .
I agree that perhaps we can help where help is needed instead of doing a recreational run. I will bring a chainsaw either way.

In light of the situation in the foothills. We can meet in Georgetown at the same time and evaluate. Spent the last few days in the pollock area helping dig out people and clearing road of trees. I did speak with the care taker at Uncle Toms , they were able to get in to town and resupply today.

If they have the road closures in place for Wentworth to residents only we will not be able to pass.

They have had a few days of good weather to clear things up. Unlikely there is any more recovery’s and stuck vehicle and people stuck in homes. Of course the road is still in bad shape. Our road is still a mess too. I logged on el dorado county roads, parks and trails. It shows the MET closure but no closure in Georgetown. This will be a last minute decision by the club. I do agree with chris 100% that we should make sure we are not putting out a bad image for our hobby and club.

I agree will the other members that we should hold off on this run. Even though conditions are improving, this is not the time that we should be iodating the infrastructure system that has already been taxed. Also respecting the locals and allowing them time to clear there property or have better access to get supplies on already narrow roads. The weather has show that winter is here for the long hall. There will be plenty of other opportunities to snow wheel however it is best that we let the foothill communities recover from this 50 year storm.
