John needs a trail support crew: Brad with his welder, Joe with his welding skills, Keane with his red top...

Closed Mondays.

BTW, it is possible to steer without a track bar. When you turn the steering wheel, nothing happens until you tire hits a rock, then it turns but you have no control over how far it will turn. I spent the whole trip turning my steering wheel lock to lock to get down the trail. Gets very scary when you are traveling next to a cliff 😯

Kind of a 4x4 version of bumper cars

So we know what John broke, but what about Troy and Rob? Any word from Chuck on the ticket?

Chuck's ticket lol Not much to tell... The cop was nice and only wrote him up for doing 70 wink

Rob and Troy's damage was only body damage.

No problem of helping you out John, I know you would do it too, you can treat me to Leatherby's one of these nights 😀

As far as my damage report.

1. smashed the driver side window frame just above the door handle.

2. smashed the passenger side door handle and key hole area of the door.

3. buckled the sheet metal under the passsenger head light on the grill when I slammed into my passenger tube fender sliding off a big rock side ways 😯

4. Destroyed one of my rear fender flares

5. Broke the front driver side brake caliper. It broke where the lower bolt goes through the caliper..The casting broke and I had nothing holding the lower portion of the caliper on. Drove the trail like this and drove home with it broken.

I think that is it until I wash it. I might find more lol

I never did look at your door...too busy trying to get mine back home.

Fred, I should be in Folsom around 5:30 or so. Will you be home or is there a place I can leave it if you're not home?

Thank goodness Chuck runs dual batteries. I need to get that setup. It would make welding much easier.

My list was pretty small,

Smashed in passenger fender, same rock that Rob smashed his finder and door on. I was denied on the climb though, he and John both made it through.

Stuck throttle on the way home up I80. Got about half way home and realized that my foot wasn't actually holding the gas pedal down, smacked it a couple of times and it backed down to only holding it about 3K RPM's which is pretty much minimum cruising RPM for me anyway on the freeway. Pulled off at Penryn to drop Justin off and disconnected the hand throttle from the throttle body and it was fine after that. Haven't gone back out to look at it aside from that yet.

Oh yeah, got a valve stem that needs to be replaced on my driver's rear wheel. That's been an ongoing issue, but took me about 10+ minutes last night to get that tire to air up.

Hey Rob, I got video of you making that obstacle by the way, it's about 150MB so I'll have to throw it on a CD for you and give it to you next time I see you.

I should be home, but if I'm not you can leave the battery on my front porch.

You could also leave it at Chuck's house. He lives just down the street. The house # is 124. He's on the opposite side of the street from me, toward the culdesac. His house is right next door to one with a for sale sign in the yard. But if you'd prefer to leave it with me that's fine too.
