11/13

Hi Guys,

I brought up in the June meeting the idea of having another day at Prairie City where we gather and have different people from the club (or even a guest outsider speaker) go over what's needed to know for fun and safe off-roading.

In the past both Brad B and Kris O have talked on issues of what is required on our rigs, what's a good or bad idea builds, maintenance, safety points, etc.

Here's the beginning thread. My objective is to have a place to discuss timing, topics and planning for funness!

We will have foods, and foods and more foods.  We can drive around and practice on the obstacles at PC.

Once details are nailed down I will make sure there's no major events at PC that day, and I will reserve a spot for us (If that's possible.)

Sound good everyone?

Thanks!

Sounds good to me and as long as I can swing which ever date is selected, I'd plan to attend.

Chili with beans.

I am in for a pile of sauer kraut.

We will also need some crab cakes, onion rings, and then some refried beans?

We will need a camera crew to capture our re-enactment of the "Blazing Saddles" farting scene after that feast. . .

Reactivating this thread...

Scheduled date is now Nov 13th. I will post this on the calendar.

This is a great opportunity for prospects to supply foods to become members. Post up. We all pitch in.  It is fine if more than one prospect wants to participate for their membership.

Possible issue: PC is having the Karting, 2-Stroke Club Race Nov 12-13 on the Kart Track and Adventure Bike Tour in the ETC Range A.  I've no idea if these areas are where we usually hold our event or if this would conflict with us.  Does someone know???

We can discuss options.

Thanks.

We turn Left, right after the guard shack, to go to the 4X4 area. The carting track is straight ahead down by the quarter midget track from the guard shack. There should be not any conflict.

What time will it start and how long will you be there? I’ll try to swing it if timing works.

All,

I will plan to be there at 9AM.  And we can start discussing things at 10 as outlined above.

I called Prairie City and the 4x4 area does not have planned events this day.

Cost is $5 to get in I believe.

I am hoping Kris can bring his Gladiator and discuss items involved with Overlanding type off road!  I plan to invite some other forums I engage with to increase participation!

See everyone there!

I would think that we will meet in the area called "4X4 pit" (see PC map) As you come off the paved road into the 4X4 area stay to the left and go down the dirt road past the lower play area to the first trail to the left, then turn and go up the hill to the 4X4 pit area. (second gate) You can see a few covered picnic tables.  I figured that's where we had it the last time and has the most room to park.

I posted this in my Rivian forum.  There should be good interest in the overlanding aspects Kris can offer.  AND you'll get to check out some Rivian vehicles if they make it.

I am considering sending an offer to NorCal TTORA as well but that could result in a LARGE audience...

That might be fun!! More people can bring more experiences.  You and Kris are good at keeping it all organized.

Rivian is vaporware to me until their stock price comes back up. I will be there and will probably bring the truck fully loaded for camping gear to help demonstrate overloading, I mean overlanding.

Bumping this up!

11/13 is the date (Sunday)

Lots of collateral conversation on here but not really seeing many "I'm Showing up" posts!

I'll be there at 9AM on Sunday, and plan to see who's there at 10.

I can't speak to food, as that was mentioned by others.  I'll bring my JKU and Kris plans to bring his Gladiator.

See everyone (anyone?) there!
