No doubt! But, the 4Runner isn't running great right now. Stupid 02 sensor. Against all the recommendations on the internet, I bought a Bosch sensor. Stupid thing worked for a while, but best I can tell the gasket compressed enough that it no longer fits right and won't seal. I ordered an OEM Denso unit, but it won't be here until Tuesday. Hopefully they don't need a rescue mission!

Dang! It sucked being up in Tahoe yesterday. I kept thinking, "I could be half way to Buck by now." And then when the wedding was an hour late getting started, I kept thinking, "I could have been relaxing at Buck right now." And then when I was driving home at Midnight, taking the I80 detours, tired as heck, I was thinking, "I could be sleeping under the stars at Buck right now." And then when I was getting up this morning, I was thinking, "I could be strapping Brads Jeep over the hard stuff right now."
I used to wheel a lot. . .

I got home about 6:00 pm. Unfortunately I didn't take time for any pictures on this trip. There were several cameras out so hopefully others will post their pictures.
I headed in Monday morning with Brad and his friend Fred, Dave and his friend Emery & Bill. The trip in was pretty uneventful until we were on the approach to Old Sluice. I ended up slicing the sidewall on my right rear tire. A few plugs got me by with the hope they'd hold until we got to camp at Buck Island Lake. Many of us got hung up and/or took on some damage to the left rear corner on the left turn/zigzag getting in to the sluice. I got a little divot to the left rear corner. A little further on into Old Sluice I ended up bumping the side of my safari top against the rock wall on the right and put a decent tear in it. Later I found I wasn't the only one with some top damage from that spot.
My plugged tire made it to camp and the next day on to the Tahoe side staging area where we changed it and aired up us stragglers Nascar-style!

Big Sluice sure has changed since the last time I was there. Where the two big rocks are at the top just after making the left turn into the sluice had changed a lot. You no longer have to drop down off those rocks. The left side wall has eroded away enough to just drive to the left of those rocks. It made Big Sluice pretty uneventful.
Cadillac Hill seemed a little different too, but I can't quite figure out what. Some parts of it down lower seemed more difficult than in the past and the top seemed much easier.

Made it 😀 , haven't looked it over yet but not any visible damage, other than a shiny fan blade that rubbed the shroud. Had a fantastic time, and Cole gave his dad a great father’s day gift, and drove about a third of the Con. and it wasn't the easy stuff either. He drove mostly hard obstacles and even concord half of Cadillac, I still haven’t stopped grinning. By the way, that is his first crawling (driving it) experience.
Cole and I left Friday afternoon, and got into Loon Lake about 10:30 pm. stayed two nights. Hooked up with Joe, and Sue on Saturday, left Sunday and meet up with Lee, Dave, Aaron, and Earl, (Earl caught up to us at Elis), for a total of 7 rigs and headed for Buck. For some of us it was a 7 ½ hour day. (As a club we need to learn to stick together more and watch for the person behind you.) Got into buck and ran into Chuck, he had a great camp site so we stayed there for two nights. Hooked up with the rest of the group on Tuesday, which made for 11 rigs running out together, would have been 12, but like Fred mentioned Aaron left the day before. Made good time out for having so many rigs.
Joe if I had known you were stopping for ice cream I wouldn’t have taken hwy 20 home. 😛

We also made it back to our house about 6PM yesterday. Had a great time as well. We only ran Monday/Tuesday. We ran in to buck, and made camp about 530 PM. The group at lunch at the dirty dozen camp on the far side of the springs. Everyone helped everyone out, which made the trip a lot more fun. Once we got up top, we split and some of the faster people ran out first, aired up and were ready for the rest of the group when they showed. This enabled everyone to get road ready quickly.
We ran into a Unimog on the way out. He was running 49 or 50" IROC's.

I had an incredible time. Everyone did great! I followed Fred, Brad, and Dave in. I suffered a dented driver rear corner and a tear in the passenger soft top. But I think the train fixed my alignment. She drives straighter now than before the trail. I camped at the site up at Buck. The next morning I discovered that a couple of mice decided to take up residence in my Jeep. After finding the nest I noticed two pair of eyes starring back at me. Not feeling like the great white hunter I decided to deal with them at home. The trip out was a lot of fun. Thanks every one for such a good time. Brad I still have you welding bag. Thanks for the fish.
