Anyone know how much snow is still up there?

Thought I read something last week that at least the easy side is still impassable?

Isn’t that a relative term? 😛

I’m driving up there tomorrow to scout the trail head. I’ll report back if the run is still on tomorrow.

The gas station is one exit past the Eagle Lake exit. Exit 165D88DF4DB-211D-49CA-8E63-0FFD056A631D.jpegImage Enlarger

Made it to the trail head in my super duper earth crawler a.k.a. Prius. Trail head was clear of snow.

I wonder how the Fordyce trail is to the first river crossing. This could be an alternative to cancelling it.

I will be up in that area on Saturday. Already took the day off and not going to waist it. So if anyone wants to join me, I will be at the meeting location around 0900. I am sure that a lot can be seen, and some great Miles traveled.

That's a cornice, which is created by blowing snow/ice over a ridge or crest & it looks to be the same as we have seen it not long ago. The road leading up to it is in this picture, which it's off camber & needs careful driving when there is no snow. A good move Josh, no point in taking chances when another time is safer. Too bad, Lynda was actually going to go! We'll wash the Jeep instead!

I've heard it was fine all the way to the first river crossing.

I also heard the river was high and fast, so that's about as far as you're going to go for now.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

Updated on the calendar to show cancelled, I did not completely remove it so that anyone using RSS sees it in their calendar as cancelled.

Fordyce Creek will be running full flow all summer long except for the weekend of the Sierra Trex by Cal 4 Wheel.

So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
