Could be one of the last runs of the year..I was deer hunting on Monday up around the 7500 to 8000 foot level and it snowed on us early in the morning...It is just hit and miss this time of year when the snow is going to dump...I am running Fordyce tomorrow and will throw the rifle in just in case I happen to see a buck on the trail

We have a secret honey hole of deadfall and bring a saw
Unless you covered it, it's going to be wet deadfall at this point. I'm sure you can find something to get it going with though.

We are all back. Didn't leave till after 5pm on friday due to an unexpected visitor. Traffic wasn't as bad as expected. We were hanging out a the Georgetown Hotel planing our next move when Larry called a little after 6pm and said he was going to leave after picking up Cole from Homecoming. That would put him at Loon at about 3am. We came up plan a,b,c and d to hook up. Plan a was for us to take a nap at loon and wait for Larry and Cole. If', when they got there we would decide to sleep or wheel in. Stopped on the way to cut firewood so we could thaw them out if needed. (in defiance of fall weather we took no upper doors and they took no doors at all.) They got there in record time with Larry all fired up and Cole was trying to say something but his lips were frozen shut. Put him in my jeep with the heater on to thaw while we picked up.It was a fun ride in at nite. Sue and I had not driven in at nite since the spring, it was long overdue. There had been a fair amount of of rain up there. Every thing was wet and there was water running down the bowl. It was worth the cold drive as we all had fun. The only annoying thing was the sound of all of the Toyo barking. The MTR's were as quiet as a mouse. Got camp set up and went to bed a little after 5am. While lunch was being fixed when we got up saturday morning ISH I cut and split dry wood as we all wanted a good campfire that nite. That was about it for the activities of the day. Earl and Riley showed up and joined us for lunch. By the way Earl, that guy you gave the parts to was very grateful. He showed up a little after you left.We all spent the rest of the day just goofing off and enjoying a very beautiful and quiet day (people wise). Had a good dinner and good fire that nite. Nice way to end what was most likely the last over-niter of the season. Had burgers at Georgetown Hotel and came home after our traditional ice-cream stop. Will try to post campfire pics soon. Oh almost forgot, found fresh lion tracks short distance from the trail and the FOTR guy had bear prints and nose slober on both sides of his rig in the morning.
