I'm also going to put this on the calendar.
Snow run up Wentworth Springs Road out of Georgetown, CA.
Departure time - 9AM, Meet up at Georgetown Market between 830 and 9AM.
Location: Georgetown Market., one block east of the Main St./Wentworth Springs Rd. intersection with Hwy 193
This will be a "go as far as we can get and then turn around" type of run. Everyone is welcome, but I do suggest you bring a recovery strap and have both front and rear recovery points as there will probably be lots of recovering going on. Bring a lunch and snacks + water. You can purchase sandwiches at the market for your lunch as well.
Who's up for it?

As long as I can get a new winch motor sent to me from Warn this week, me and a bunch of guys will be camping on the Rubicon this weekend. We will park our tow rigs on Ice house road nearwentworth and wheel in Friday night about an hour. saturday we will wheel as far as we can make it then camp. We will head out Sunday afternoon. If you make it to the Rubicon, we might see you on the trail.

Anyone else? This seems light from our club, but we should still have decent turn out.
If you'd like to meet at EDH Safeway, I'll be there between 730 and 745 for a Georgetown depature right at 8AM.
This run is fun/basic run and stock rigs are welcome too! John! Kevin!
I have a friend of mine bringing his Sahara in completely stock form on his first run, among other people.
We'll see the turnout. It should be perfect weather too.

??? More detail please. 😀
We traded the Tundra for the JKU. We love the JKU but really miss having a pickup. So, Elena is (her choice) going to be driving the JKU and I will be getting a pickup. We will be getting rid of the Subi. Win/Win for me
I used to wheel a lot. . .

Nice pics Johnathan. Your new tires did great!
We had 7 rigs total including a stock Sahara and and a slightly modified Rubicon. Everyone did great. We got to the dam, and Hayward ran down to the spillway to check for passability. Our group wasn't set up to attmpt the snow drift there so we turned around and headed back. After getting back to the SMUD maintenance station - where the road is plowed, one rig elected to head out ice house road while the rest of us decided to attempt Wentworth with the long uphill snow drift. Suprisingly, we had little difficulty until we hit the last climb. There we ran into a group of TJs and a LJ who was stuck trying to recover a solo YJ heading in the downward direction. The TJ/LJ team was very nice. The YJ had zero recovery points and me recovering him cost me a tow strap. He also didn't have a shovel, water or food. It did have four people in it however. Luckily there were able to turnaround and head back out with the TJ group. We aired up past that snow drift, hit one other challenging section and cruised down to georgetown. This run had people from Petaluma, Stockton, Galt and Lincoln. Hopefully we'll see some of them on the board here. It was a great group and a lot of fun!

My Jeep did well. Got stuck in one spot going uphill. Custm Toyota yanked me free. Yep a Toyota, lost a little pride on that one. I aired down more after that and did fine. First trip on my new rear axle. Test run completed.
