Sunday June 26th will be our first maintenance run of the year on Strawberry Pass Trail. This is the trail the club sponsors. The fall run will be held on a Saturday in an attempt to accommodate peoples schedules but there will be a couple other opportunities to satisfy the maintenance requirement. To maintain member status you must make 1 of the maintenance runs. Our key goal for this run is bucking the trees still down in the area and surveying the trail for rebuild planning.
Trip info:
Meeting place – Shell at Pollock Pines exit off Highway 50 at 8:30am. We will meet and after a quick drivers meeting will head up to the trailhead about 9:00AM.
please take photos of former obstacles and leave GPS tagging on in your phones.
Things to bring:
-Gloves
-Loppers/hand saw
-Chainsaw (please only USFS certified operators, no exceptions) and safety gear (chaps, eye protection, ear protection

I have plans that day later in the afternoon but would like to come. From the recent picture it appears that once the downed trees are moved my stock ram 1500 could probably be able to make the drive. This would allow the drive home to be easier and I could go straight to my previous engagement. Can anyone that was up there on the last scouting trip advise, or do I need the bronco?

I think it really is going to depend on erosion from snow melt. Bring the 1500, worst case you have to hop in with someone else if it gets too tough.

I took my stock ram 1500 4 door yesterday with little problems. I only went in a few miles and turned around before the overlook, but we were past all of the previous hard spots. Water erosion was the biggest concern and the trail even changed from morning compared to when we drove out. The ground was soft and a few rocks were easily moving around and rolling back into the trail.
