Hello

I would like to do a Strawberry Trail road patrol next week. On Wednesday or Thursday. August 17 or 18th. Plan would be to meet at Freshpond at 8:30am. My daughter is going back to college and I want to do something fun with her before she leaves.

Forest Service requirement Club members only. I'm looking for a second rig to go with to be safe. Anyone interested? Club member only.

Can someone tell me who has the club trail patrol door decals? I would like to pick them up please.

I have one set of the door magnets and can bring them along with some handout info to the meeting.  Jeff should have the other set of magnets.

If you go I ask that you bring a trash bag and get some pics picking up trash or something.  I am essentially generating propaganda.  Also grab pics if the gates are open or damaged.

FYI, this came in through our Contact Us page on 8/6:

Good evening! My wife and I camped up Schneider Cow Camp Rd. last weekend just off the road before the barn. We walked up to the gate the Forest Service had put up to close off Strawberry Pass (where the partnership between Gold Hills 4X4 Posse and Forest Service sign is) only to find the gate torn down and placed on the side of the trail. It is my understanding that this trail is still not open yet to the public for off-road use. Is this still true and some idiot tore the gate down, or is it now open and we can again enjoy this trail? Thanks!

would be cool to have one of those camoflauge cameras that they use for scouting that hangs on a tree and records when it sees movement to catch those idiots

Brent or Josh, one of you coordinate meeting me at some point this week to pick up supplies.  The forest service wants groups of two vehicles.  If two more club vehicles want to you they can start from the opposite side of the trail.

I stopped by the upper trail head after doing the Deer Valley workday.  The gate was down as reported and one of the posts was completely missing.  I hammered a t-post in to hold the thing up but without any signs indicating that the road is closed it will likely be torn down again.  I have asked kyle for some road closed signs to put up but im not sure what they will have.

Does anyone have access to a laminator so we can hang some notifications on the kiosk?

How I found the gate

Tossed to the side and bent

Straightened it back out

Added a t-post so it wasnt just leaning

Kiosk still looks good

Parking area looks good for access to the hiking trail.  I think the Kiosk need info for the OHV trail, the hiking trail, and the hunters that frequent the area.

Jello KRIS!!!!!  the lamination machine at Guy's work does 8.5 X 11.  So if that isn't big enough I can take it to Office Depot for us.  I thinking they have a machine that can laminate a house...
