Wow Jeff, I'm glad you're okay and that your Jeep is relatively fine after that orderal. It's rutting season and the bucks are going crazy this time of the year. As a result, both the bucks and the does they are pursuing are running into the roads without caution. I have seen three dead deer on the roads near me just this week, one on my street that has a 25 MPH speed limit. You were fortunate you didn't get body damage from the deer or from hitting something else. Hopefully the fix will be easy and inexpensive.

Had a great time on the run, thanks to everyone who helped me out......first time for me driving on so much snow on a trail.  Made it home by 7:00 but hit a deer going 60 mph on 50 west bound after Shingle Springs on the way.  I am sure the deer did not survive.sad Did not see it after I hit it.  I ended up on the center median, somehow, no memory of those 15 seconds.  It must have hit the driver's front wheel.  My guardian Angels must have been in the Jeep with me, I was very lucky.  Not injured, didn't hit any one else, the Jeep looks fine and drives fine, after all it is a Jeep, but my Electronic Stability Control Light is on and my steering wheel is canted about 15 degrees.  Talked to Scott at

Cloakworks, he thinks something is bent on the steering assembly.  Off to spend more $$$ next week to get it fixed.  Glad everyone enjoyed the cookies.

Thankful you're OK. As we travel throughout the Seirra's, to & from our home on Austin, NV, we see a lot of animals, especially at dusk, it's no wonder there aren't more strikes. Something larger like a cow or horse can be devastating, so can a deer for that matter. Glad to hear you're OK & no more damage to your new Jeep than what it has suffered.

I'm glad you're ok Jeff!  Please keep us posted on your jeep's repairs.  Hopefully it only requires a drag link adjustment.

Sorry to hear that Jeff, its scary when it happens. I hit a decent sized boar in my LJ years ago, scared me near to death because in the split second I saw it it looked like a person jumping out. Knocked out my alignment and bent a Currie tie rod but no other damage, hopefully you are in the same boat.

Glad you're OK Jeff.

My father hit a deer on 80 a few years ago near Auburn and spun him around a few times and he ended up in oncoming traffic.  Luckily it was later at night and hardly any traffic.  The deer hit his driver fender and drove it into the door so that he could not open it.

Sounds like the poor guy went under the jeep and probably bent the tie rod.  Cloakworks did a pretty good job if that's all it is.

Thanks,  hitting any animal is always scary.  Will find out next week what the damage is.
