So.... how did it go???
Nice sunny near t-shirt weather, slush on the ground, and very little traffic compared to the last 2 runs. A few of us brought out the RC cars for a bit and Kyle stopped by for about an hour in the morning. After lunch 2 groups went up to play and others started to leave. When one of the groups got back we packed up and headed out just after 3:30 on account of there being hardly any traffic.
There was one downside to this run, the bar has been raised for club BBQs. We had heaps of tri-tip and sides plus the guys grilled up a bunch of veggies so we can say it was healthy. Grilled asparagus is the only way to go.
We talked with Kyle about the new club that adopted long canyon and he already has uses for the rock trailer on that trail. Additionally he is going to try and set up an open house for the volunteer organizations (us, couple other jeep clubs, some dirt bikers, and some horseback clubs) to meet and discuss the planned maintenance needed on a forest wide basis. For Strawberry he will be setting up a meeting with the roads crew so we can figure out what exactly needs to be done to get it open.
Thank you to everyone who came. These events are the biggest thing we do to keep the forest service happy and this run was no exception. Congrats to the new members and thank you for the feast.
