This was my first time on the trail, but it looked like recent pics I had seen. I think the trail was in good shape since we did no major work.

I had an open seat! You should have called me. You know I don't bring my son on maintenance runs...

I didn't want to start calling people at 5:30 in the morning. I was hoping somebody would check the forum and call me. Next time I'll have a back up plan.

It all worked out. You got to play with a big fish 8)

I saw another thread about ideal wheeling and Eric's pic's #11 and 13 are a good summary... Fun, family, friends...

This trail is hardcore...I mean extreme! I found my front upper track bar mount broke in half!

I drove it 7o miles with a broken mount home from strawberry on Sunday. I am more scared now knowing what I did.

A little welding, a brace, and soon I'll be out trying to brake something else...

Really?

We have had some pretty good carnage on Strawberry though so you'd be in good company.

They say it's a dirt road, but why do we brake axles, etc. when we go???

Only one side of the mount was cracked and some how it stayed up on the frame so I could stear...I am lucky it stayed.

Do you just have the factory trackbar bracket or do you also have the RE1611 trackbar bracket? If you don't have the RE1611 you may want to consider getting it (and the requisite RE1610 trackbar or even a stronger custom made one) to help reinforce it.

From the cumulative Posse experience, trackbars and brackets seem to be the weak link on TJ's.

I have the 1611 bracket. I will reinforce it NOW. Thanks

Strawberry is a dirt road...until you add snow...then it's a Jeep and Toyota eater. In the Summer time, you can drive it in an SUV.

I used to wheel a lot. . .

RE's got a trackbar bracket brace to work with the RE 1611 in their 2008 catalog. I was just over there last week and it's still not available though. The guy I talked to didn't know what the hold up was on it.

Yeah, I saw that. My bracket broke on the drivers side of the frame, so that may help us in the future. I do have the heavy duty track bar also.

You can just weld tube from the upper bracket to the opposite frame rail. Then gusset your axle bracket. Shouldn't cost much to have a welder do it for you.

good idea, since I have to take it over to IH Only for a gusset anyways. When I look at the lower brace, it looks weaker than the upper one. Maybe it needs a bit more metal too.
