Howdy,
I was surfing the net, looking for a family friendly club, semi close to home (Pollock Pines), and found you all. Two different websites say El Dorado Hills, but it looks like your meetings are held in Roseville. Now Roseville is not out of the question, but I was wondering if meeting are ever held in EDH or anywhere along the 50 corridor?
Also, my 12 yr old son loves to go out riding the trails with me. My wife, not so much... She will go on easy rides, but cheek squeasers are out... Are there many (any) other youngins that attend??? We would like to find a group where he is not the only one around his age, that we can go on trails with...
We have a 97 TJ with several mods to have lots of fun with
I din't see any place to send an email, so I guess I will just ask here...

Brian,
Welcome to the Posse boards! I'm actually a fairly new member and really enjoy the group. Especially for the family friendly environment. Bringing any willing family member of any age is highly encouraged. I bring my pair of 5 yr old girls and they love it. Other kids of varying age also participate as well as spouses. So that par I can confidently share.
As for meeting location, my understanding is that its centrally located as best as possible for the members. We have some come from Loomis and Grass Valley. A couple times a year a meeting is held at 4 wheel parts store. There are a few members in EDH as a matter of fact, such as the current President.
Come to the meeting in 2 days!

Hi Brian
We live in EDH. The club originated in EDH but moved more centrally when the EDH round table closed
My family includes a 14 year old and a 6 year old. Lots of members have kids. Our daughter started attending meetings at 3 weeks old. My son ran the rubicon with me starting when he was three.
Hopefully you can make this Thursdays meeting to check us out.

Well, showed my son some pictures, and he is looking forward to meeting and going out with a group...
Here is an older pic from a couple of years ago in my front yard
Wheels and Tires have been changed since this one was taken. I used those for about 6 months to get all the gearing and ride worked out before I put on the new set. Nerf Bars are gone, Poison Spyder Sliders have replaced them... Wife is not happy, its too hard for her to get in now 😀
97 TJ SE (4 Banger)
Pacesetter Header (sounds like a rice rocket)
RE 3.5 Short Arm
3" Body
4.56 Gears
Rear ARB (need to hook up a new air line, installing an air tank...)
Front Open (for now, need more cash )
Pro Comp 7069 Wheels (need to verify, so I can order a spare)
35" BFG M/T
It looks like many of the club runs start here in my backyard. Looks like I will have an advantage of sleeping in a little longer 😛
I am ordering a spare wheel and tire this week, otherwise, should be good to go...

Hi Brian, welcome to the forums.
Do you have front and rear recovery points on your Jeep? I can't see any on the front but maybe you've added them since the picture was taken. The club has a few vehicle requirements and recovery points are considered one of the most important. Check out our article for what works and what doesn't. Other requirements can be found in the club runs section of our bylaws.

Fabbing up some D-Ring Shackle mounts to hook on my Blue-Ox Tow Plate up front.
For the rear, I have a D-Ring Stinger to plug in the 2" towing receiver (like what pictured in the article)
Quick, or maybe not so quick question...
I have a Warrior Products Adventure Rack on the back which works great. It has lower brackets which take the weight off the rack / tailgate which I really like. There are quick pins that put the load on the tub when installed. I always keep the pins installed, even when empty, so my tailgate hinge is like new. When I installed the lower brakets, I did so so that there is a pre-load on the pins. This keeps everything nice and tight back there...
Now I am looking to put a full size spare on. From what I have read, most people say a 35" is too much weight for the hinge to hold up on a regular basis. Since I have the weight on the tailgate already being transfered to the tub, I am not too worried about that. What I dont know, is if the 35 will fit on the stock spare mount without an adapter... I guess I can always pull off one and test fit it, but if anyone has tried, please chime in what fits...
Then again, maybe its time to rotate the tires anyway...
Thanks,
Brian
