What year Cruiser? Post 73ish (I think it was 73) came with disc in the front. It's pretty similar to a mini truck axle.
I had a 64 and when I put disc brakes in the front I had to change the master cylinder and add a booster. I can't remember for sure, but I think it came out of a Wrangler. I also added a proportioning valve. It was quite a while ago. As I remember, my brakes were useless without the booster and new MC, but I don't think I had power brakes to start. Just the old 10 spline axles with drum brakes all the way around. When I added the discs in the rear, I kept the same setup and did fine.
I like that someone asks questions that aren't Jeep related. 😀
