As a side note...Not to anyone in particular...just some thoughts I had about build-ups...
Building big rigs is cool, but I still believe that your rig should grow with your skill level. Find out exactly what you need to do the trails you drive on. Just building a big rig for the Rubicon just seems like such a waste. It just makes a fairly easy trail just that much easier. I see and know guys that build these huge buggy type Jeeps just to cruise the Rubicon. It's a much easier task to drive your buggy through the Little Sluice, but very different when you are driving a full body rig on 35s or 37s. Now if you are heading to the Hammers, that may be a different story. But still, see how your rig handles the trails and build it accordingly. Not to mention your skills as a driver will increase as you get used to the different levels of the build-up.
I am now zipping up my fire suit in preperation for flaming
I used to wheel a lot. . .

I agree but whatever makes you happy. It's your rig and your money. fwiw each of my major builds followed a JV run.
Starting point was 100% stock to:

All the crap I broke at JV had nothing to do with my build I built mine so I wouldn't break anything on Deer Valley

I have had little breakage over the years. My builds were motivated by trail denial. And for the record my first trip to JV I made it 100' up lower Big Johnson. That was my entire weekend right there. I cut a tire, fried a clutch and vapor locked the motor. Best trip ever.

Photo #4 is a so called "comp cut" XJ springs on the rear with a 6" offset center pin.
Photo #5 is with Dodge Dakota springs. They have a 10" offset pin. In 5 the entire rear tub has been removed and replaced it with tube and sheet matal. I just didn't finish the skins on the sides. Pic number 6 shows it.

I did install it myself. It isn't hard if you know what you are doing when it comes to bench bleeding the master, brake line bending, caliper bleeding, and bleeding the steering. As long as you are comfortable doing that it isn't that bad.

I would help you on most anything else, but when it comes to brakes, I only work on mine. If I screw something up, hopefully I am the only one that will pay the price and get hurt or killed 😯 Brakes are a major safety item and most people don't want to take on the liability of doing someone elses brakes. Fred might help you, he also knows the Vanco system.

You've worked on my brakes...Does that mean you could give a crap if I crash and die? 👿
