So I wanted to start a new topic for my truck. I told some of you about last weekend, but here it is again. I took my wife camping up on Strawberry the weekend after the Strawberry Trail Maintenance Fall Run. And I did something realy stupid. I was driving down the trail talking and having a great old time when I was not paying attention to how wide my truck was. I caught my driver front tire on a log that was cut out from the trail 😯 . It pulled it hard driver and my steering box cracked in half and ....... I have not gotten to explore every thing yet as my work week has been crazy. I lost all my power steering 👿 It was a very hard drive home!! Now My Question here is I told my friend about what had happened and he offered me a Ford power steering box tapped and a hydrolic ram for hydrolic assist. I know that it is not a straight swap but is that a better box? I know the ram is always going to be better then no ram. What do you think? rasta

I'm sure there is a forum revolving around the Dodge Ram. Did you look to see if this is a common upgrade or swap?

I did a quick search on a couple of Dodge Ram forums and came up empty ... but then I might not be asking the right questions.

Thanks for showing me what has already been done. 🙄 I wanted to know if it was a better box.

I just came in from pulling the steering box and it is a inside frame mount box. The Ford box is an outside top mount box. It would take some work to make this mount up right. 🙁

Did you get it fixed? It's going to be hard to drive the Rubicon without steering.
