We went in Friday night from Wendt Worth and didn't see that many rigs on the trail. We camped at the Dirty Dozen camp ground at the Springs. We left the springs this morning and headed back to Wendt Worth. I bet we didn't see 20 rigs on the trail on our way back. The trail was like a ghost town.

Wow, I went in at Loon Lake and it took 3 hours to go one mile yesterday, we ended up splitting off at the loop back to Went Worth because their were so many rigs stacked up waiting in line at every point along the trail.
The FOTR were doing some maintenance. I watched a Unimog carry in 3,600 pounds of rock and run that part of the trail fully loaded, then dump his rocks along the trail for volunteers to move. Very Cool!

We did hear that the trail between Loon and buck was a parking lot on saturday. I was amazed how quick people disappeared sunday morning. We left the the springs at 9:30 this morning and we were the last group to leave. Where did FOTR do work on the trail? We didn't see anything they did on the way back out

Friday at 3pm we decided to take a silly safari to the Rubicon we hit the road at 5:15. We drove most of McKinstry friday nite but turned around when I couldn't remember the cut off to get to wentworth. Lots of snow , water and one big mudhole. Got to WS at about 11:30 and took last spot.It was a ZOO!! The people next to us were great! the rest were the worst I have ever seen. We drove the chutes between there and ellis on sat. It was the only place that wasn't over-run with people. Was glad to have some company as some of these were ugly and wet. LOTS of break-downs and Explodo's. We actually chose to back down a couple of the chutes because repairs were going to take hours, had to run out for parts and a welder. A few were the normal jeep things, blown beads, drive shafts and axles. The worst were the buggy's and truggy's with the when in doubt power out thing. My usual bad driving was hidden amid the carnage. So, after several hours of this we took the trail back to camp.It was fun but ALL the animals were out of their cages this weekend. Got home about 1pm. Glad we went and missed the heat.

I was one of those FOTR guys this weekend. What a zoo. The unimog made hauling all that rock look easy until it lost a bead and had to be unloaded. Luckily, all of the rock on it was in bucket, so unloading was easy. The trail maintenance was from Gate Keeper to Ellis, but little was done at Ellis due to the slow progress with traffic. Altogether, we probably hauled up to 6 yards of granite. Then ate a nice steak dinner back at camp. 4 wheel parts wholesalers supplied prizes for the raffle. I got a sunburn.
To all the guys that went in wentworth and to all the guys that sat in traffic . It was a beautiful weekend to sit in traffic wasn't it.
Did anyone see the 30' or 40's dodge pickup? It must have been on 39's or 40's?

That Dodge Power Wagon came into Rubicon Springs Saturday night. Nice looking truck!!! You guys should have been on our end of the trail. We were on the river with our entire camp under shade all day. Sunday was fun heading out of the springs with no traffic!!! Rubicon Springs at the Dirty Dozen Camp Ground is the only way to go. Bathrooms, the river to swim in, off the trail, shade, and no dust!!!! You guys should consider going there on your Round up. Much more relaxing!
