I just was looking at your ride in the members section and saw that you are running a tera 50. If this is true or at one time true, how did/do you like it? is it running larger axles on the inside or are just the outers bigger than a d44? Where did you get it at? I can't seem to find much information for them on the web. Would you run it again or would you just jump to a d60? Thanks for your anticipated response.
Um...what?

I can tell you that John would jump to a 60 if he had a chance, but he got the Tera 50 at a smokin price. As far as axles go, it is just a Dana 44 both inner and outer. The Tera 50 can be built like a 60 minus the carrier and ring and pinion..By the time you spend the money building the 50, you could have a 60...

Just yell at me if I'm crossing any lines. I know I haven't met most of you, but you guys make me feel so comfortable,
I thought it was normal to pick on John while he was gone. 😈
We've got to have something to talk about.
My stupid internet has been down all week. 😥 Stuck at home with no internet and no sleep. I'm going crazy.

That was before he let the board die.
Once he got 10K posts he just faded away into oblivion.

Finally home and settling in. We spent a total of 9 days (including Christmas) in the hospital. He had jaundice so bad that they had to keep a hold of him. All is well now. We're just doing the normal not sleeping thing. 😀

I'm back now...
My Tera 50 is just a fancy high pinion 44. I did add Superior Chromo axles and CTM u-joints. Like Rob said, I'd do a 60 before I spent the money on a Tera 50. I do love the Tera axles though. They have the best clearance of all the 60s. Both my front and rear have worked great.
...and anybody can pick on me at any time. That's how I like it 😀
I used to wheel a lot. . .

You can run a LPD44. That's the stock jeep TJ axle, above the base model. JK's come stock with them today.
If your jeep is a short wheelbase, the LP housing makes for a pretty steep Driveline angle and usually causes vibration - even with CV drivelines. Some people run body lifts and smaller suspension lifts to minimize the problem. It would depend on your set up.
HP 60's create a better driveline angle, and minimal vibrations.

HP axles in the rear run on the coast side of the gearset. That is the weaker side, and more likely to break teeth under load.
HP axles in the front run on the load side, and are stronger. LP axles in the front run on the coast side.
That's why you would want a D60 (or equivalent) if you went HP in the rear.
