Brad, can you post some photos of your Jeep with the bumpers, lift, tires, etc. Sue and I are probably going to buy a 4 door Unlimited Rubicon for her here in the next week. We are looking at the Red Rock color Rubicon with navigation and all the other bells and whistles. I found one for about $35,000 OTD. I will probably only put 35's on it for her since she will be driving it to and from work. I also want it so I can use it for deer hunting. I am just done with the POS FJ cruiser....

Here are some I took really fast. Mine is a 2008 JK Rubicon that is fairly loaded. It has half doors and a 5-speed, which are two features you may upgrade. Mine was $33K out the door, but no auto or hardtop.
Don't waste your money on a long arm kit. 35s can be run with a fairly small lift , unless you want some cheap 37" tires and wheels!
The red rock color was originally limited edition, but it turned out to be real popular so they continued it.

Cheaply made, seats suck, no visibility, off-road performance sucks, rides like crap on the road, etc, etc, etc!!!!
"Bender" wrote: Aside from poor off road performance what's wrong with the FJ? I ask because I'm my Corolla certainly isn't the car I thought I was buying.

I think the Rubicon is out the door. Sue didn't like the lack of power that it had. The dealers we talked to said it wont be until 2012 or 13 before the new motors go in 🙁
We did drive the new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It is a all new body style and it is very luxurious inside and out!!! Sue really liked it!! That might be her new car unless I can get her to hold out for the new Wranglers to get the more powerful motor.

The deler lied to you about the motor. The 2011 will have the new 290HP motor. I was going to sell mine and buy a 11 with that motor. It seems pretty awsome. I've been waiting for Folsom Lake to get one so I can drive it.
How about this one?

I hope they are wrong. We went to Roseville, Folsom, and Auburn Jeep. All of them told me that Jeep will not offer the new motor until 2012 at the earliest????? I cant find anything solid on the internet supporting the 2011 delivery?
The New Laredo I drove has the Penstar V6 290HP motor in it. It flat out gets up and goes!!!! This is the same motor they say is going into the Wrangler.

I have found several places on the internet that say the Penstar will not be in the JK's until 2012. The 2011's will have an upgraded interior design. Allpar.com is one of the sites

It may take me some time, but I'll find the article I read and post the link here. The motor you reference above is the one they said would be in the wrangler - as you stated.

Subject change. Forgot to mention that on the Fordicon run I was bottoming out a rear shock. I took it off last night and it wouldn't expand more than 8 inches. There should be more than 16" available. After forcing it open the problem became aparent. The shock shaft is bent. Talking to WE tomorrow. We'll see...

So we didn't end up getting the 4 door Wrangler. Sue ended up buying the newly redesigned 2011 4wd Grand Cherokee Laredo Limited. It is white with, leather seats, and all the electronic goodies. It doesn't look anything like the old Grand Cherokees. It has the new Penstar motor and is built on the Mercedes M class frame and suspension. Drives really nice and the Penstar motor has a ton of power and it gets over 20mpg..I was hoping for the Wrangler so I could throw some 42's on it
Here is the article of Jeep trail rating the 2011 Grand Cherokee on the Rubicon http://www.jeepinthenews.com/2.....the-trail/
This is the interior

I have not found any lifts for the 2011, so I would assume that is a photo shopped rig. I will however keep my eye open for the lifts when they come out!!!
"JohnDF" wrote: That lifted Laredo looks "way-cool-a-go-go".
Should have picked nicer wheels though.

I will burn those pictures for you and get them to John!!!
"BKGM Jeepers" wrote: Way to go! I sat in one two weeks ago. They are huge step up from the old model. 20+ mpg from the new motor is awsome too. I hope the JK gets similar mileage.
Rob, can you burn your fordicon pics to a CD and give them to John so I can get them?
Thanks!
