Any recommendations on a good quality CB antenna and cable?
I already have the Midland 75-822 portable CB and need a good antenna and cable to extend its range.
I'm open on mounting location and can go from 3ft (if mounted higher) to 5ft (if mounted low). I'll be using a quick disconnect so I can get into my garage.
Thoughts?

Kevin, if you mount the disconnect higher you can run a 24" antenna. It won't rock around like the longer ones. You can check mine out on the maintenance run if your making it.

I use firestick for both.
But it's only because that's what I found on eBay. I also run the quick disconnect.
My reception is great but I don't have a way to compare if something's better..
The best cb I ever ran was on my yellow tj.

I have a used 4' firestick you can have.
I have a new 4' firestick you can buy for cheap.
You can borrow either the 4' or the 2' firesticks to try them out if you'd like.

I have a little 12" magnetic base antenna that came with something I bought years ago. You can have it though I don't think is was any more effective than the 8" on your handheld.
Related to CBs, does anyone have a SWR meter? They are pretty cheap but if someone has one already then that would save me from buying another 1 time use tool. On the last trail run i was only hearing some people so I figure starting with the antenna aught to help.

A couple people on here have the SWR meter, so you can borrow one to tune your radio's reception. Gil got great reception and he tuned his himself. I believe Fred does that as well.
