The "rules" have changed a lot over the years.
Most traffic pretty well resides on Ch 17. It used to be N-S traffic was on Ch 17 and E-W traffic was Ch19. Emergency is still Ch 9.
GHP typically uses Ch 10 when out and about. Another popular CB channel for Offroad clubs is Ch 16 (4x4).
